What are you currently playing?

I should revisit it some day. The first time around didn't leave as much of an impression as I would have hoped.

I would say that is a valid thing.....I enjoyed it alot but I don't think I could ever play it again.....there is a few very mundane things and I don't think I could be back to it.

But when I first played it.....I was swept up in the vibe of the whole experience...the mundane and the exciting parts.

But I will also say when a company tries to do what Rockstar did....cracks show up more....like for example....doing things for the camp are essentially meaningless...but I still had fun doing so.

More of the same of 1, or a step down?

No...I find it different than the first.

The first RDR was an incredible game...but I find it be GTA in the Wild West...with heavy influence of spaghetti westerns.

The second RDR is a different game and I have seen some people absolutely adore it. It's much more about being part of the Wild West.....almost like cosplaying. Though..it still has the GTA mechanics and etc....but I find it more about living the experience of being a cowboy/outlaw. It feels more "real".....it feels less gamey than the first.

But I think it has flaws (like later missions being very similiar)...but the game looks incredible for a technical and artistic point of view...and sometimes blew me away with specific missions or just events in the world.

It's also long as hell...which for some people is great...but eventually got too much for me....

And from a development point of view, it's incredible...like a shitload of skill and thought was put into it...

It strayed too far from being a game for my taste.

I've got no time for doing boring bullshit for 10 hours straight until the next exciting mission.

So a single player mmorpg?

Ah no...the exact opposite.

What do you think of Sega racers like Outrun compared to the Burnout series?

They play totally differently, but at their core its all about arcade racing with very simple physics and a turbo boost. I think Burnout may have been the pinnacle of the arcadey racer popularized by Sega (And like arcade racers in the 8-16 bit era)

I would say Burnout would be an evolutionary step of Outrun. You are correct, both are arcade racers with similar type gameplay mechanics but Burnout has involved to incorporate better technology and allow it to more things...like crashes.

Burnout Revenge is reminding me why I love the series.

I only wish the Xbox version had more then one control scheme, the constant pressure on the tight triggers starts to hurt after awhile.

Playing Fallout New Vegas, AGAIN lol... have basically given up on getting a PS5 anytime soon. Just doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

I am not paying an insane amount of money to buy a scalped console on ebay. Scalpers can go f*** themselves, not giving them my money.

I feel the same way. With a huge backlog of games like Burnout Revenge, Assassins Creed Black Flag, Darksiders, Skyrim, and Fallout I see no need for a modern console anyways. Pretty much the only thing modern games offer is visuals, gameplay advances are very incremental (And in some cases appear regressive)

Well, I still want one. I wanna be able to play Skyrim and Fallout on better consoles so I won't have to put up with them long a** loading screens, can use mods, and enjoy much better graphics.

There are still lots of games from the last gen that I have been desperately wanting to play that I haven't gotten to play yet because I only have a ps3 and xbox 360. Like XCOM 2, RDR2, and Dying Light to name just a few. Yes, I could just go ahead and buy a PS4 and I have been strongly considering that lately but so far I've been able to resist the urge to do that..

Just seems like a waste to spend money on a PS4 when a year later I'll probably be able to get a PS5 which is what I really want.

Tekken 6.

**** Azazel.

Beat Jin's story, Kazuya and Heihachi were easy enough but I was stuck on Azazel for... Jesus, a ****ing hour. Goddamn.

In fact, I'd say I spent more time on him when I was using Jin than when I fought Shao Kahn in MK9 as Liu Kang.

I also have a huge backlog of games, but that is why I use a subscription service like PSNow on my PS4.

I haven't gone to PS5 yet though. I generally just wait for the Slim versions of new consoles and there's not a ton of must have games for it. Plus, that first wave of any new console often has manufacturing problems. I learned my lesson when I bought a launch 360 and got RROD.

Well, that and I'm strongly considering just permanently switching to a Cloud gaming service. Won't have to worry about all the console nonsense.

Dying Light looks to me like they essentially took Fallout 3's post apocalypse and mashed it up with Mirror's Edge parkour.

Looks fun, but aside from the visuals you can get a lot of the gameplay elements in other games.

Wouldn't you rather check out Dead Rising?

He could check out Dead Rising on PSNow.

Like I did, which is how I found out I dislike Dead Rising. Granted, I wasn't the biggest fan of Dying Light either.

The grinding aspect initially turned me off.

Ended up getting it over with in one session doing tunnel loops while going for the true Megabuster, and then played to win the next session using the Megabuster.

Dead Rising 2 seems more fun out of the gate, but haven't gotten far in it yet.

No, wanna try Dying Light. It is from the same people who made Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. Unlike most of the opinions I've heard from people, I really enjoyed both of those games.

I hear that Dying Light is what Dead Island should have been. One of the few problems I had with DI and DI RIptide is that it is always dayight during the playthru. That gets so boring after a while. Though the combat is always satisfying.

Dying Light actually has a day-night cycle.

I actually checked out the screenshots of Dead Rising in Playstation store recently.... or was it called Dead Nation? Can't remember exactly. I don't think I'd like it, tbh.
