Still Doom-ing.
The D4T: Death Foretold mod right now. Converts all weapons/enemies to Doom 4 likenesses (Just different enough not to be outright infringing)
I think this will be my last mod. After the Brutal Doom varients, all I wanted was an overhaul on Freedoom Phase II terrible graphics/sounds, that's closer to vanilla style gameplay then Brutal is, so I can enjoy Community Chest maps and such minus the over-the-top elements, and this fits the bill nicely.
Started Assassin's Creed Origins.
Digging it so far. Really like the new direction and how much it departs from the regular Assassin's Creed formulas. Graphics are outstanding and the story is decent despite taking a while to get going. Really like the new combat system and sidequests. Can definitely see Witcher 3's influence.
If there is another Witcher game, they could learn from Origins in terms of movement. Riding a horse is second nature in Origins while Witcher 3 is terrible. Moving as a character around the battlefield is simple yet provides various amounts of tactical options. Witcher 3 movement is wooden and frustrating in comparison.
I was surprised by the auto run pathfinding and that I actually used it a lot.
My favourite thing to do was to use auto run pathfinding and then start flying around with the Eagle. I could then pick out "resource" caravans that I can take down so I can upgrade the various items/weapons you get. It was neat that my character could ride the horse to a destination perfectly while I was scoping out the area.
Yeah, it is.
I enjoy how a few of the areas are devoid of anything really meaningful aside from bandit camps, lookouts and other smaller activities. It makes sense....vast deserts are barren so it would be silly if they were filled with quests and etc.
They do a pretty damn good job filling the map with interesting areas and things to see.

Doom 2016 totally feels like Unreal Tournament, mixed with Quake. Rip the name off, change the enemy looks, and would anyone even guess this is a Doom sequel?

Eh? Played my share of UT and Quake back in the day, but not sure I really agree. The monster designs, pace, and everything of Doom 2016 definitely feels more recognizable to the Doom classics than Doom 3 (much as I liked it), but can't please everyone I guess.
Doom was MJCH faster. At least classic Doom.
But it's partly the weapons. All those energy balls rappid firing and stuff. Reminds me too much of an online multiplayer shooter like UT or Quake 3 Arena.
