Yeah, I was crazy for using chocolate and crispy Doom.

Gzdoom may have inexact physics and such as proven by trying to replay demo files, but it plays close enough where you wouldn't really notice it. And the visual mods make it look like a nice HD remaster in full widescreen.

I've even softened about enabling "alternate fire" mods, where the double shotgun can fire each barrel individually, or the chaingun can ramp up the speed to 11, or the rocket launcher can heat seek. It's nothing that really breaks the game, just neat extras.

Found a neat little mod for gamepad play:

Basically lets the crosshair "stick" to a target so you don't overshoot. I switch off autoaim entirely with this, and keep freelook on, with a ramp in general sensitivity until it feel comfortable. Add in a visual mod like Beautiful Doom or Smooth Doom, and you have a nice HD remastering.

Doom the Plutonia Experiment explains everything about the Doom modding and fan map scene.

Always wondered why so many wad designers make their maps way too hard, filled with an unreasonable number of monsters in a small area. They're all weak sister wanna be's by comparison of this official expansion.

I mean, one of the maps literally has 6 Cyberdemons all in one room. Wall to wall chaingunners, seeker firing Revenants, two Archviles resurrecting all of them, no cover.. All common place.

I don't think a "No death run" is even possible on this megawad. Save scumming is the only way to make progress outside of God mode

Fire Emblem: Awakening.

The 3DS still has fantastic games if you can't afford a Switch.

Lol...you're having trouble with the Plutonia Experiment?

don't play the MAYhem series then.

Ultra violence. Everyone has trouble their first time through, what with the traps and revenant and chaingun and arch vile placements.

Which Mayhem, I'd like to see for myself.

Also watched a "pro YouTuber" confirm Shadow Warriors hitscanners are indeed a *****, and it wasn't just me.

I believe you once called the game easy when I was complaining about machinegunners hitting me with pinpoint accuracy from across the map or hard to see locations.

Duke it out in DC.

Shadow Warrior has been free on Steam for awhile, but I just found out Gog is offering both expansions free. Used to be pay for.

Time to finish up Lo Wang's story.

Duke Nukem Alien Armageddon mod.

It's awesome.

You know, thinking about it, we people who bought Duke Nukem 1.3d really got shafted.

Keep the extra content from The Birth, but to not at least offer up bug fixes and demand double dipping on mostly the same content, only to turn around and offer several free upgrades to Atomic Edition buyers, was kind of a dick move.

Duke Nukem.

The original run and gun side scrollers.

Dusted off my old copy of Duke Nukem which included both games in their entirety. And they're not bad.

Especially the second game.

Can't say enough good things about this mod.

Think of it like "Brutal Duke", except more reasonable. All it does is randomize enemies, adds new ones based off concept art like a pig with a shield and a sniper, and a new playable character you can swap to freely with her own arsenal, like a rocket launcher that can use cold and fire rockets.

Even has adds cut scenes to the classic stuff, modifies Duke it Out in DC to include full on Half Life 2 style battles with aliens, makes Smithsonian better in every way (And you don't even need the expansions, just Atomic Edition).

This plus a unique campaign that puts Gearbox to shame.

MK11. Love it.

Is it much different from X, gameplay wise?

X was a pretty vast departure from 9.

Fire Emblem for Gameboy on my DS.

The FE series is so damn good.

11 feels easier to me. Maybe a little slower? I didn't play a ton of X. Animations are much smoother overall as well. The gameplay of 11 grabbed me immediately which didn't happen with X.

A lot of the characters are just really fun to play, particularly the DLC charactersd. Shag Tsung has a variation where he has moves from various MK ninjas that aren't in the game, like Ermac, Reptile, Smoke, and Rain. And characters like Joker and Terminator was really fun. Noob Saibot is also great, and Baraka finally is a good brutal character.

I also love the Krypt in this one.
