Goku's character seemed more mature overall in Z, but here he's always more child-like, which feels forced as phuck for the sake of cheap comedy. Sometimes it's funny, other times it's cringeful like with the above example. I heard Toriyama didn't have as much control over the writing with Z as he does here, which would explain some of the changes in characters...
I'm just hoping that seeing what his future self can do makes Kid Trunks push himself to train and Goten. Though I know people not named Gokou will never get to shine in Super..
Originally posted by NewGuy01Cant judge that yet. For the first time this actually makes more sense than normal. Why exactly do half saiyans have the same transformations as their saiyan parents? That was always a question. We know half saiyans tend to have hidden potential that exceeds pure bloods but the main character to see this became a scholar years ago. A war torn half blood with severe ptsd, youd think we would start to see they might not take the same trajectory as their parents but might achieve different forms because of their lineage.
Okay, Trunks' powerlevel is so BS in this arc Im not even going to try and understand it. Overall great episode, though.
