The best I can tell, Super is slowly re-building their world from the ground up, so it's probably not fair to really judge it by classic DB and Z standards.

DBS = average 7. Has moments above 7 though.

Tbh? I kind of hate DBS. Not like seriously, but it's so disappointing, in my opinion.
I'd rate them like this:
DBZ = 9/10
DBGT = 2/10
DBS = 5/10
I only give GT a 2, because I thought SSJ4 was sweet, but DBS gets a 5 from me, because of how the creator is just abolishing so many set plot points in the series, just for the hell of it. The entire series has been fan service at this point, and I really am starting to feel like watching it is a chore. 🙁
I can understand where you are coming from. DBZ just had more of a wow factor to me, which was probably due to my age at the time lol. But yes DBS has some amazing moments which I could see being above DBZ.
Also the thing I loved about DBZ was that characters died in it. Made the show more emotional at times.

Until you realized the Dragon Balls would just revive everyone. But that was when they started flouting all the rules late in the series.
Story and drama wise, the Radditz, Saiyan, Freeza, and especially the Cell saga were very well done.. It's easy to take for granted now, but Dragon Ball basically invented a lot of tropes of the genre..
DBS had its chance to wow an impress the anime community when it first came out but decided to debut recapping movies in less quality and, IMO, worse pacing than the movies themselves. It also doesn't help when you realize that said recaps are more than a 3rd of the episodes in the entire series at this point. Even when the show introduces entertaining ideas and new character concepts like the Universe 6 tournament, the arc itself is mostly a waste of time when the good stuff is introduced very late.
It taking DBS this long to produce a decent arc in the "Goku Black" story leads me to suspect that this may be the best DBS is capable of. Which is a shame as I was actually enjoying it for the most part.

What are you talking about? DBS is one of the main anime out right now. They are so big that they opened a company up that is officially writing nothing but DBS. It's one of the leading anime titles right now. You, CDTM, and vampire need to open up a thread where you all can rant all day about anything DragonBall.

So I'm wrong for expressing my opinion on a show that should by all mean be producing better quality than it has? Also what does opening a company have anything to do with what I just posted previously? I don't blindly like everything that Toei puts out nor should anyone be expected to.
Yeah, learn to take criticism. There's a difference between constructive criticism and blatant trolling. This thread's had its fair share of the latter along with shit-posting, but wakka's post wasn't one of them.
Anywho, with the arc we just had I give this a good 7.5/10, assuming Z is a 9. For what it's worth, I enjoyed it more than I did the Buu saga, and even if Super doesn't outdo itself again to this extent, think it still has good legs to stand on for at least awhile.
Many parts of Super are definitely better than Z ever was. But I do think Z is better than Super, over all.
Imo, Z has a lot of problems and I still give it a 10/10, but I honestly believe if Super, with all of its issues, just fixed the damn art and animation quality, it would be better than Z. Super sucks, visually, 7 out of 10 episodes. It's kind of annoying.
That said, Super has better stories, better characters, better settings, better lore, slightly better pacing (it went to the opposite extreme Z did, which is still bad, but better), and is funnier on average.
