I know we've established that Toriyama typically doesn't think that far ahead or makes stuff up as he goes along (more often than not), but looking at some things more in retrospective, I can't think of a reason the Supreme Kai didn't or would not go to Beerus or Whis or someone higher up during the Buu saga to ask for assistance regarding the evil Buu wiping out many many planets in universe 7, other than of course, the fact those characters had not been thought up of yet...
Sigh, regarding Gohan and him possibly catching up to Goku after just a few hours of training with Piccolo, I expect they'll just use his Mystic form as a loophole for how much stronger he can become since he never trained after getting his potential unlocked state from Elder Kai up until recent and so they don't have to do a new or god form with him or anything. Even still though...
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeWell, Beerus wouldn't care. He was also sleeping and nobody would want to wake him up.

Yeah, with how they already tied Beerus into the past lore, like him ordering Frieza to destroy planet Vegeta for him and things like that, no ****ing way would Supreme Kai not know who Beerus was. 👆 And so what if he was still sleeping during the Buu arc? Whis has woken him up over smaller things before. If Beerus didn't care about evil Buu's rampage though, suppose he saw it as as a way of someone who could unwittingly do his job for him as GoD by destroying a number of planets, but even then man... With how many planets remaining universe 7 is reported to have now, it's no wonder U7 is rated 2nd to lowest in the end aside from the other things that qualify it as such.
Oh yeah, isn't Beerus's life also tied to one of the Kaioshins, to where if one dies the other also dies? (which was how Black/Zamasu got almost all the gods killed in the future timeline) Beerus would have every reason to step in against the evil Majin Buu then, with how many Kaioshins he had killed in his early rampage. He took action against present time Zamasu, so why wouldn't he do the same for that?
Just admit I found more flaws/plotholes in Toriyama's writing and surrender. 😛

I would have thought that was obvious.
Some people act like the writers are infallible, and their first instinct is to make up reasons to rationalize every inconsistency, plot hole, or gap in logic.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeXD of course there is plotholes. But maybe in the time Buu was first around beerus should have done something but idk about Buu Arc

Fair enough. I was just bringing stuff like that up after I realized it when I was talking with someone about Dragon Ball history and stuff and how you can't see some of the past lore the same way again now with everything that Super added, which there was bound to be some more inconsistencies as a result...
You know what I think they should do or should've done while prepping for the universe survival tournament? Have Whis teach every team member how to better control their ki like he did with Goku and Vegeta. The better level of ki control without it leaking out is part of what allows those two to have the kind of power they have now, and if the other Z fighters learned that method of ki control (even if they don't have new forms as a result like Goku and Vegeta with SSJB), they would have a lot of potential unlocked would they not?
