I don't see a problem with Goku losing. He came into this tournament wanting a good fight ("I can't get no satisfaction!"😉. Jiren gave him a good fight and then some. Possibly the best fight he has ever had in his entire career, pushing him further than any opponent has ever had. As far as Goku is concerned, his goal from the outset of this arc is satisfied. Not to mention that U7 wins the tournament anyway, so no biggie. A least a Frieza win gives some pretense that teamwork actually mattered in this arc when we know it didn't.

Horrible storytelling is having the protagonist get taken out by some random nobody after spending hundreds of chapters building your protagonist up for greatness. Horrible storytelling is Hajime no Ippo as of late.

wait, shit, the spiderman dude is actually two different people?

Tried to put in my custom avatar. KMC kept ****ing with me so I finally just said **** it.

Yeah but...he hasn't really won any legit fights in Super. Golden Frieza I guess.

He hasn't won any fights since Yakkon.

Even if it is from a cheap shot or not a clean-cut loss, with MUI we should be at a level of power at which things like this should not happen anymore.

Well, if Superman who is a few tiers above Goku in power and speed gets an occasional defeat, I think it's expected that a vastly less impressive fighter can get phucked up by plot reasons.

...I just know I'm gonna get blamed for this, somehow...

Goku confirmed Heart Force uer.

Here's a summary of everything said about Toriyama's original draft for the ToP arc -- translated from the official DB website:

I like those last 2 lines. If that is true I am ok with any outcome in this tournament.

You know, Jiren with Toppo's personality would had been nice.

Can Goku stack his SSJ/KK on top of MUI? I don't see why he couldn't. What do you guys think?

No, because that requires conscious thinking.

Now that I think about it the only person who Goku beat in Z was Frieza....so I can see him losing to Jiren..

Recoome and the other meh characters dont count...haermm

I mean, he beat Majin Buu, didn't he?

Using genkidama which is kind of a plot weapon.

I still can't believe it took till the eleventh hour of this tournament to start having some consistent level of fun in it...that still doesn't have any stakes.

Also looking at Goku's record of wins/ in DBZ how come Yakon or Recoome don't count? The former being the first thing Goku killed since Dragonball.

Because people tend to only count the big names.

Granted Goku pretty solidly beat Kefla so I’m not sure why others think he’s never beat anyone in Super. He also beat Botamo. He also apparently eliminated the most people in the tournament.

And he needed to get repowered by the Dragon Balls... so two plot weapons at the same time, actually.
