So, this got released in Australia last night. No kidding, no April fools. It's legit, apparently.

Obviously, anyone that does get it? No spoilers. Yes, i get that the original is donkey's years old, but still.

Oh..it's for real

won't be getting any spoiler's from me, I haven't brought it. Hanging out for RE 3 myself.

So apparently this is

Spoiler:
barely a remake because the plot goes completely off the rails.

We’ll see if it’s any good but I expect a lot of people will be very disappointed.

My understanding was that the major beats are the same, but that there's a lot of new shit in-between.

From what I'm hearing, that's not exactly true.

I guess we'll have to wait and see then. I mean, honestly, there are things that they could change that I wouldn't mind.

Haha. I don't expect you're going to be pleased...

Gonna be honest, there's no story beat I can think of that would seriously upset me if it was changed. I could be forgetting one, sure, so I can't be sure either way.

I read an article saying avoid the latest trailer because it has spoilers.

By this I mean: it reveals changes that weren't in the original. So even if you played it on PC or PS1 you could be spoiled.

I can't say I give much of a shit either way. I'd prefer a new game not them to remake games from the 90s.

It does show some stuff so yeah, avoid as best you can.

I accidentally read some spoilers earlier. People who care about such things should DEFINITELY avoid spoilers for this game.

shut up

Talk to me like that again and I'm going to spoil this piece of shit game for all the weeaboos wanting to jack off to HD Tifa.

I just saw the trailer.

What spoilers?

I mean, there's a few, but one that sticks out that was one of the bigger ones not to happen in the original was:

Spoiler:
Sephiroth stabbing Barrett.

IGN reviewed this as an 8.

I suspected that there would be a lot of filler.

Would spend time in Cosmo Canyon just to hear the theme. Kinda like I did for another game...

I never really got it.

II was fun. III was epic. 7 was okkaaayyyy.

No Chrono Trigger, but I liked it well enough. Love it though.. No.

Now 9, that I love. Wish we got an HD remake of that one over 7.

It was a big deal I think due to timing. PS1 had been out for a few years when FF7 first came out in 97. However, the N64 had just come out in 96 and so the console wars were in full swing again by the time FF7 hit. It was a big deal because it seemed to push the PS1 to it's limits and I think it was the first FF game that was on the PS1.

It is a fun game. When it comes to turn based RPG's it is one of the best, though honestly I am not a fan of that kind of RPG. Still I enjoyed it and it's one of those RPG's that is 60+ hours and has loads of extra stuff and you got the extra bosses you can find that are much harder than the final boss.

I still like Chrono Trigger and FF3 better. U ever play Chrono Cross the sequel to Chrono Trigger?
