I dont see how thats possible. Then everything else would be just as worthless.
False statement. Assuming all things will be worthless if gold is worthless is not true.

The only way for that to be true is if everything's value comes from gold which is not the case.

Gold can become worthless while other things remain valuable.

Nah you just come here to argue and disagree with me. I don't believe there has ever been one time we have agreed. Most people on this forum I find common ground with over time and learn to let things go, you on the other hand don't post unless you see me posting. So you are flawed.
I hate to tell you this but you are assigning yourself much more worth to me then is actually the case. I saw a thread and a point of view that is flawed. I'm trying to correct it. I don't actually determine how or when I post based on you.

PS I can tell you in a rage tangent cause you had to post that twice.

Look I don't want to downplay your value as a human being. But I really do not think about you at all. I don't go searching for you or try to look for your posts/threads. If you think so you have an ego problem.

I posted it twice because it was on the bottom page and I did not want it to get lost on the back page.

We disagree, anything else?

Yeah I think you should get back on topic whatever the topic is supposed to be.

Okay....

Anyways considering most transactions today involve the dollar in some form. I do not consider people not knowing the amount of gold as something to be held against them.

The guy in the video had a silly premise and did an even worse experiment for it. Gold is only has any value as long as we assign it high value. When that stops being the case gold won't be valuable anymore. That could be ten years or 100 years down the line but it could happen.

Also people are not self centered because they do not know the value of gold.

I think you are confused, when I said "With Someone Else" I mean I would engage in conversation with someone else, not you🙂

Cheers

I know so stop talking to me like you said you would.

I've posted my opinions on the topic. You don't have to respond to them or my posts after all.

If paper money is worth nothing, and gold is worth 1,174.90 of paper money, doesn't that mean that gold is worth nothing?

0*1,174.90 = 0

One would think, but if we take a scale, and put a gold ounce on side, and one ounce of paper, how much paper will it take to match that one ounce? Prolly a high stack of it vs the small amount of gold.

Think of picking something up that is made cheap vs well made, do you prefer a heavier well made product, or a cheaper knock off?

Also there is great utilitarian value in gold. It can be melted down to form new things, all phones and micro chips and any electronic device has gold. So while the paper currency cant really be used to make anything other then well, paper money. I know everyone here arguing against gold is just playing devils advocate. Unless people are out of there minds thinking Gold is worthless now. I can't really argue against ignorance. Right now, everyone here is using a device that is made with gold, but hey your using it, but some how thinks its worthless. Also how much paper do you have around you vs how much electronics? How much paper is really used anymore, everything is going digital. I don't have a single piece of paper in my house other then the bills that come in the mail, and they go in the trash😂

Paper money is made out of paper. Paper is used more than gold is in various products.

I thought you wanted to stop replying to me yet you continue to do so?

Like I said your points don't make sense.

You say Gold is more valuable because it can be used in electronics yet Paper is used more then gold is in none currency related products. For instance Post-Its.

Scrapping at the bottom of the barrel, Post-Its now😂

Yes Post-Its when the world is run off electronics.

You points are laughable.

Paper money is not paper. It is a highly designed bill made of cotton and other material. The art work alone is worth far more than the amount on the face.

No. A Commodore 64 weighs a lot more than an iPod.

Gold does have value. It is worth a great amount of paper money. But paper money can do something that gold cannot; it can be turned into numbers. I don’t have to carry all of my money around with me. I even have a piece of plastic called a credit card that allows me to spend my money while not having any of it in my position.
Gold is nice to have, but it is not as practical as money.

Paper is still more widely used then electronics. Never mind the cotton part of it which is used in clothing.

Can't argue with ignorance. But I can ignore. I thought I would give you one last shot.
