Thanos vs Supermans

Also. Concerning your debate with the other guy;

Byrne did.
Jurgens did.
Johns did.
Kelly did.
Giffen did.
Waid did.
Leob did.
Ordway did.
Rucka did.
etc.

These are many of the longest running writers on post Crisis Superman[even without the others I didn't mention]. In fact, if you line them up on the years they were writing Superman, they would completely if not damn near carry us from 1985 till today with one of them on Superman. [Johns is still on Superman, Giffen and Jurgers were both on Superman books recently also. etc]

If a few others come along and don't casually mention it somewhere doesn't make it stop existing.

If a writer hops on to Thor and he doesn't shoot lightning for an arc, we don't suddenly pretend that shit doesn't exist.

It's part of his character in canon.

Just like Superman vaulting up his power based on anger/stress/will/desire.

Every time you see Superman doing crazy things like walking through the magic barrage and reality warping of Blaze like it's not happening, stepping up to fight Doomsday, or slapping Imperiex probes in half like they were made of paper, it is the result of this particular part of him. He gets upset and stops holding back.

It is written into the backbone of his continuity post crisis as solidly as Freeze Breath is.

This entire position is a grasp at straws and completely undefendable.

Get over it.

Nice story, but Superman got KOed by a branding iron. Cannon.

You mean Barda's Mega Rod in the other thread?
You're talking about the person who is supposed to lead Darkseid's army as his right hand, using her powerful New God weapon to take down a Superman who isn't fighting her?

Cool?
lol.

No, I'm talking about the nobody cowboy with the branding iron. You won't be able to defend it.

Oh, you mean Terra-Man?
Sorry, that was a pre-crisis story. Not canon to Superman.

I didn't. DC did.
They edited out that Universe and that Superman in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

And replaced it with new Universe, and new Superman and Terra Man.

😉

But you don't read comics, you just look at forum pictures, so I don't wholly expect you to know that.

You don't know shit about me. You just showed up on the porch one day all soggy. It doesn't matter that DC can't get Superman right and it doesn't matter that Superman fanatics like you want to hide every low showing by any inconsist means necessary. You ass bags pull feats from rebooted versions of Superman on a daily basis, now you try to pull crisis card? Hell no, the shit counts just as much as any other non current version does. Last I checked you all don't exactly promote the 52 Superman's feats.

😆

The thread specifically asks for New Earth Superman.

That version of Superman ran from COIE's conclusion until New 52.

That showing isn't canon to either the New Earth Superman or New 52 Superman.

I only just came back recently, but it seems to use New Earth Superman unless stated otherwise, as current Superman doesn't have the feats, and is in fact running around as a street leveler.

So if I use New Earth Superman, it's because it's what's being accepted as Superman already in the thread.

You're right, I don't know you. My summary of your character is based entirely on a dozen or two posts in a few threads, and in all of them you sound like a whining baby and have managed to be dead wrong about events in comics on at least two occasions I've pointed out in this thread alone, suggesting you don't actually read/know the comics you post about. Basically a worthless contributor.

Ok last time I will ask
Does this superman have testes or is it standard equipment superman

No. I disagree. My summary is what happened. She was clearly the one flooding the images with power, but she was confused. She stopped and he finally hit her. She was still asking the same questions that made her get mad in the first place. Only now she was lost and sad about it again. And he still refused to answer her.
She knew she wouldn't get the answer and gave up.
Stopped resisting.

Hence my original post, before you asked me to clarify more;

No. Ego isn't. He had a good showing against a very weak Galactus.

He feared the power of a sun would destroy him when Surfer threatened him with it.
Gladiator punched him a couple times.
BRB hit him with a few small comets.
etc. etc.

He is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY below Galactus.

The idea that Galactus ran to Thor for help tells you all you need to know about how shitty that story was.

Ok a thing about the Maker. Though she was in mortal form, she started exhibiting immense power. The reason Gladiator was sent to the Kyln prison and teamed up with Quill was because of the threat she began to pose. She was imprisoned in a Creche, but somehow broke out. They were reserved only for Alpha threats. These creches were directly powered by the crunch. Yes... The same crunch that was used to defeat abstracts(Tenebrous and Aegis).
Gladz and Quill stated that her madness was starting to pass evidenced by the fact that she was beginning to exhibit tremendous power like wishing away billions of nano sentinels imbedded inside each prisoner. Or the pshychic bleed off that Thanos stated which in turn started to make many prisoners worship her. Both Gladz and Quill even went as far as to suggest that she will soon be a threat to the universe by doing something crazy like reversing the crunch surge on a whim.

Thanos was ktfo in their first encounter.

Second encounter actually had Thanos overpower her momentarily which enabled him to lobotomize her. I know it's stupid and she should have easily dispatched him considering her power is virtually limitless, but it happened. You are selling him short by stating that she simply stopped fighting.

And as for Ego... No matter how shitty you thought the story was, you just can't simply dismiss it. This is the fight I was talking about.

And don't bother saying Galactus was weakened from hunger because there was no indication of that whatsoever. In fact in the next issue, Galactus feared that himself, Thor, Firelord, and Herc would not have enough to defeat him... Citing that a mad planet sometimes has greater power.

I've read the story.
Posting it again doesn't make your summary more accurate.
She was more confused and unstable emotionally, which was evident from the start and stopped fighting and started asking questions when she realized she wasn't going to beat the answer out of him despite the fact she was clearly the more powerful of the two.

And, Ego isn't skyfather. He had a good showing against Galactus in a shitty story where he had to run to Thor for help and has since lost to heralds over and over and over again by simple means most any herald class character can perform. [Blunt force trauma.] And was scared he would die crashing into a star.

This was a psychic assault. He made her bleed from her orifices and caused her great pain, then he lobotomized her.

Dude, you are a piece of work. You should consider going back to W. Bum**** where you can't get an internet connection. You can whine about the stories that you like and don't like by yourself.

I didn't completely dismiss the showing, I said Ego had a good showing.

But you have to admit Galactus, a guy who can wipe out star systems struggling with a Thor/Surfer/BRB level enemy, is pretty ****ing silly.

As for the other story, my summary is 100% correct and undeniable in context.

The only person who has whined about stories they don't like was you when I pointed out that Terra Man wasn't applicable to New Earth or New 52 Superman.

Also, on the subject of Maker, as a mentally unstable piece of a Cosmic Cube, you either admit that her mental instability did her in for the fight, or you admit that she's weaker than Thanos and thus nowhere near skyfather because of her shortcomings.

As knocking out Thanos is her only feat of note.

Her piece of a Cube/Beyonder status doesn't carry enough weight given her mental state and lack of control.

ION 2 technically had the power of the power of ION, and Starheart all wrapped into one.
But he didn't do shit, so he's considered less powerful here in all but metaphor.

It may not be canon to DC 52 Superman, but it's certainly 1000% canon to superman in general.
