Gideon doesn't debate, he offers snappy quips, gets into personal spats about your history and regurgitates the standard party line while laughing about how he just wrecked you.

I've never seen he and Nai have a debate that didn't devolve into him just ragging on Nai for his posting history and making that the focus instead of the actual point. In terms of intellect and arguments Nai is far greater imo.

ROTS Sidious is significantly above the vast majority of the entire mythos, the only ones here who argue otherwise are Gideon's bitter ex boyfriends.

I find the notion that RotS Sidious is significantly above the "vast majority of the entire mythos" pretty laughable, when there isn't much "proof" that he is superior to anybody, save for the people he actually did defeat in straigth combat in this particular incarnation.

I think the list boils down to Maul, Opress, Kolar, Fisto and Tiin.

Give me a call when he kills somebody impressive, though. 👆

And, yeah. We have seen, heard, read and listened to all feats and accolades in Sidious favor. All of them have been contextualized, put into perspective, interpreted, examined, cricitized and still the list of people that could take him down in combat is rather long. Because, even assuming he is "zeh most powerful" in the mythos, he isn't the fastest, the best duellist, the most knowledgeable in offensive force powers or the guy with the best force defense.

So I wonder what he's going to do here. Use Force Lightning on the guy that walked through deadly Sith Magic attack and resisted the most powerful light side technique there is? Wonder how that would end, if Kun returns fire with Sith magic and his amulets against the guy who was owned by a force push.

Outduel Kun? I consider that a rather unlikely scenario. Kun was considered the best swordsman the order had produced in centuries, even when he was a Padawan. Before joining the Dark Side, which would boost his combat abilities. Before constructing his unique weapon and learning to wield it in a unique style.

Gross. Kun wins

True, I was too lenient towards you.

No, my friend. They laugh at the thread. 😎
Two different things.
Sheev followers lie and exaggerate greatly his accomplishments. They even want to negate the time Windu beat him as if Sheev purposely lost. Despicable behavior.

Pfft. You're only saying this because you've been upset with me of late.

Assuming Neph isn't always upset with you.

Ours is a love/hate relationship. There was once abundant love there, even on his end.

You seem upset, friend.

I don't take it personally, though. I know how you really feel. 😘

^ As I said, I know how he really feels.

Well you got that half right at least.

Your hatred is misplaced.

Butthurt leads to bitterness, bitterness to hate.

Bump. Would Sheev fans like to add anything to soften their beating here?

Maybe his mental struggle with Kun will allow him to summon a Force Storm big enough to grant him victory? 😗

Seriously though, you can debate "quotes" and "feats" until you're blue in the face, but what it ultimately comes down to is that at his core Exar Kun is a warrior and Sidious is a schemer.

Just like Yoda realized "he lost before he was born" regardless of how strong he was because the Sith had changed, Sidious is simply ill suited to take Exar Kun head on.

Exar Kun was at the apex of - and embodied - an age of open Jedi vs Sith warfare it, of many masters both light and dark learning the lessons of those conflicts and pushing the envelope further and further.

An era where the Sith plumbed the depths of the Force and came up with the most powerful/esoteric abilities, and where the Jedi came up with their own anti-Sith techniques such as the Wall of Light or Sever Force.

By contrast Sidious was the culmination of the Sith "Grand Plan", a thousand years of scheming, sabotage and subversion. Those were their strengths, not combat, and that's the way Sidious ascended to power.

Saying Sidious could beat Exar Kun in a duel is like saying Richard Nixon could beat Alexander the Great.

Saying Sidious could beat Exar Kun in a duel is like saying Richard Nixon could beat Alexander the Great.

Actually, if it came down to a war, Richard Nixon, as commander in chief of the most powerful military to that point in human history, would obviously crush Alexander. And so that's the point; Palpatine may have been a schemer, but he was nonetheless more powerful in combat despite his other gifts.

👆

This schemer nonsense never made sense when Sidious is a master of all seven forms of lightsaber combat and defeated Yoda in combat.
