That's what happens when WB chooses to reboot Bats over and over again. They're afraid of taking any risks and exploring different aspects of the character.
Hell, this version of Riddler is not even Riddler --- it's the modernized, dark & gritty killer version of Riddler... which goes against everything Classic Riddler was about.
Joker-lite, basically. Just with more puzzles than usual.

"The Batman is bold, brutal and oozes in gothic aesthetic. In a superhero movie climate where cameos and CGI-heavy sequences are commonplace, Matt Reeves answers back with cinema. Simply one of the best DC films of all time." 5/5

Apparently this will be on HBO Max 45 days after theatrical release which I guess is fair. Not feeling it with day 1 cinema releases anymore though because covid, but will try to see it sometime next week if I find the time. Doubt I'll enjoy it as much as I did the last film I saw (Spider-Man No Way Home), but should still be fun.

Lot of good reviews. Also lots of people saying it's a straight up pure noir murder mystery which sounds great. Looking forward to it.
I like Patterson. I like the concept of a Schwartz/Adams detective/noise. I hope it's as good as the reviews. At this point I am bored with Superhero films they just want bigger and flashier affects and more and more retarded plotlines. Mr Peter Parker is t a selfish, self absorbed and retarded adolescent and my Dr Strange can say no.

There seems to be only one legit negative review. Several are mixed, and dozens of positive. On metacritic it has a similar score to Batman Begins, which is my favorite batman movie.

^ 86% on RT out of 199 reviews (at present). So definitely more than 1 negative review lol. Great score generally, especially for DC, my point was only that it was at like 96, but more negative reviews have been coming in.
Not sure what a “legit” negative review is though?
Youre right about Batman Begins having similar scores though, which I find surprising. Only because I assumed BB would have been a near perfect score.
