What is this, like 6 trailers for this movie already? Enough.

Maybe just stop watching them once you've seen enough to decide you want to see it?

It's better than ruining the movie.

Batman and Spider-Man are my two favorite comic characters, so I'm rooting for this, also have high hopes for Pattison as I think he's turning into a very solid actor.

But the previews give me a lot of mixed feelings, like this could be total dirty ass.

So true! 👆
Trailers give sooo much away nowadays.

How so?

That they're going to make Batman needlessly emotional and angry to the nth power in a b!tchboy fashion. I get he is both an angry and emotional character and this is essentially year one Batman so he has to grow into the mantle of Batman. But I don't want it done to the point it's stupid.

Hopefully I'm 100% wrong (and likely am) here and this is the best Batman film to date and this film is the cinematic equivalent of Kate Beckinsale's freshly out of the shower ass.

Can't be any more retarded than Batfleck on the emotional overreaction front. Particularly the BvS display.

Yeah, that's a reasonable concern. The director is really, really good, though, so I expect great things.

It's hard to expect fresh and clean Kate Beckinsale ass, but if anyone can deliver it, it's Matt Reeves.

I consider Dawn of the Planet of the Apes honestly one of the best films of my lifetime. And it's a stellar Trilogy.

Martha!!!

@Patient_Leech Fair enough on Matt Reeves, he is very talented.

Maybe it's been mentioned already, but this will be set in a shared universe, two sequels are planned and two spin-off TV shows set to air on HBO max.

That's interesting to know that he's planning a trilogy. Cool. Very cool...

I assume it really depends how well this does. If it doesn't hit expectations, they could go with another director for the sequels or leave this as a standalone film and do another reboot.

I suspect if this does well, they'll likely merge this Batman into the DCEU, they have the Flashpoint Paradox angle (ie time travel) coming up in The Flash (2022), which means they can explain it away that way. Similar to how anything is now possible in the MCU with the multiverse tampering.

Sir. Unless it's as bad as Batman & Robin there's no way it won't make obscene amounts of money.

I don't think this will flop at all, but I believe after the ridiculous amounts of $$$ the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy made, the studio has the bar set very high for Batman and if this doesn't hit the mark they've set, they could consider a new director for the sequel.

I guess that's possible, but as long as the movie is at least pretty good and pretty well reviewed, it will make beaucoup $$. It would have to be ridiculously below expectations for that to happen. In other words it would have to be Batman & Robin bad.

Actually I've had less interest in the Nolan Trilogy over time because of the Batman voice and Bane making it kind of a joke. Rises left kind of a sour taste in my mouth and I haven't been able to go back and rewatch since.

Rises was a step down from the first two and Bane's silly voice only added to the cringe of Batman's silly voice.

The writing for Bane (especially in the 3rd act) hurt him and the movie more than anything. The writing for Rises as a whole hurt the trilogy retroactively, for that matter. The silly voice was at least fun meme material for awhile and made Bane more remembered than he otherwise wouldve been.

Hardy sounded like he was trying to sound like Seth MacFarlane voicing Johann Krauss in Hellboy II, was just weird.

Yeah, and to top it off Rises was an over-long mess to me. I really hope Matt Reeves has a much better Trilogy planned.

Given his Planet of the Apes Trilogy I have very high hopes (I mean, I know he only did 2 and 3).

I still really dig Rises. The hate for it is kind of overblown, the script just needed another rewrite to iron out some of the plot holes. Also, the fight choreography could have been better. But overall, I liked it.
