Planned Parenthood Breaks the Law

Square brackets are for minor changes for grammatical consistency or clarity when quoting, not for mis-representation for which you would get pilloried in academia. Irrelevant anyway as such measures are not needed in a forum quote and it is bad form to alter such a quote even if indicated and in jest.

Unless the academia is incompetent, then nobody will notice for decades and your view will be aknowledge by the population while the original quote is only understood by two teachers in the most backwater university of your continent.

Lol this thread is hilarious. An obvious ploy to demean planned parenthood by eliciting an emotional response.

That wasn't the case. He made a mistake by using the wrong word and I corrected it and made it obvious I corrected it. That's exactly what you would do in the academic and/or press world.

Edit - And obviously you and Bardock42 may disagree.

At any rate, we apparently won't agree on this issue, so I'll just restate one more time that the attitude that some people have that men are to blame for getting a "poor girl" pregnant comes from a misogynist place.

Doesn't the fact that the attitude you are talking about involves men getting solely blamed for it also mean misandry is involved as well? It pretty much seems to imply all men must of apprenticed under Loki and are all secretly tricking these poor helpless women into having sex with them.

I think people just need to adopt a "it takes two to tango" way of thinking. No one side is more to blame for the other. The man decided not to use protection and the woman decided she was fine sleeping with a man without protection.

in the example you're discussing, the man is blamed but only because the woman is presumed too stupid to know better. so no, you'll find no contradiction regardless of how much you want it to be apparent.

But saying she is too stupid to know better implies men are raping all these women. If a woman is retarded she can't consent to sex. So this still involves misandry as well. It's irrelevant if they didn't mean to insult men with the line of thought, but it somewhat does nonetheless. We are all rapists who will f*ck a retarded chick.

You can call it ironic or whatever you want, I just call it ass backwards thinking from people too stupid to realize their thoughts make men look just as bad.

misandry is a prejudice against men. you seem to be redefining it as a compulsion to blame men. while it can certainly lead to men being blamed for stuff they didnt do, this is not the case. if you're looking at one woman and saying "well, they're too dumb to make their own personal life decisions on their own", based on them being female, that is clearly misogynistic in nature. you're just plain incorrect on this.

I never said it wasn't misogynistic, only that it wasn't only misogynistic. If you disagree that is your opinion.

if you want to get philosophical: it could be misandry, but with a different observer stating a different form of prejudiced blame. particularly one that doesn't automatically excuse/condone one party on the grounds of presumed stupidity and puts the responsibility on the presumed intellectual superior of the couple.

with that said, in this context it's pure misogyny.

I guess we'll agree to disagree.

All men are rapists per the example. 👆

Being a "poor woman" is much worst than the implication that men are raping these women, clearly.

Speaking of birth control:

That is f*cked up.

Great move though. They can ditch obama care and get a Christian Health Care Co Coop plan that is legal and better then ACRAP Care.

Don;t mess around like that- it wasn't Bardock using the wrong word by accident, it's you disagreeing with him about using that word- that's a detail of argument, not correction, and it's taking the piss for you to claim that's what would be done in the academic world. It is pure misrepresentation of his argument.

Stop being so ridiculous- do not do it again.

This is the only issue I have with this post. It wasn't an accident. The word I used was "mistake" and I used that word on purpose.

Bardock42 intentionally used the wrong word because, as you said, was taking the piss out of me (yes, I'm aware that you said I was taking the piss out of him). He knew what he was doing. It was an intentional mistake on his part: not an accident. He knew my position and knew that I strongly disagreed with the misandrist notion that "men are sex-maniac rapists who trick women into sex."

I'll post more about that, later. This evening? (early morning, your time).

wait.....isn't this the wrong thread for this? How about I start a new thread?

I forgot to clarify something.

You're supposed to. And, in fact, if you don't, you can end up plagiarizing yourself.
