That was practically Worldbreaker Flash. Nobody even saw him, including Superman, and he was lending speed to EVERYBODY.
Amd that armor he destroyed was resisting Pre Crisis characters.
And losing to Orion is hardly low showing, considering he's Darkseid's son, is fated to kill him, and has neigh Skyfather feats of his own (He rebooted the universe in Rock of Ages, and contained a universe implosion bomb.)
With NO effect will goku do any harm to superman with a ki blast (lava = below a nuke!)! But superman doesn't have to reach him since goku NEVER will get pass heat vision or cold breath! Take damage means YOUR death.😌

There is nothing up Superman's sleeve to do anything to Goku.
*sigh*
So far all the feats that have been posted proves that Superman is:
- Too slow in combat to touch Goku.
- Too weak to tank Goku's attacks as he will be one-shotted.
- His Heat Vision is too weak to damage Goku whom shrug off attacks infinitely more powerful on a daily basis.
- His freeze breath is too slow to touch Goku and can be send back at him with a casual attack.
Son Goku curbstomps Superman effortlessly.

Honestly I think that a large majority of manga characters are a bad match-up for Superman AKA they will kick his ass easily.
Superman has both the advantages and the flaws of being an archetypal character.

You say Goku has superior combat feats.. Ok, fair enough. But that works both ways. In travel feats, Superman can move so fast, he can create a vortex that KO's Goku before he finish's his "haaaa".
Or, he can just stay a moon away from Goku and blow hard. Again, that's how he beat Hat.
Actually, I can see Goku losing the exact same way. See, the thing is, Hat LET himself stand in the super hurricane. He was completely invulnerable to physical harm, so was showing off by standing his ground. And Hat forgot to take into account the air problem.
Goku's totally stupid/arrogant enough to just stand there going "Look at me. See how tough I am, can't hurt me." And than collapse gasping, as Beerus and Vegeta face palm in embarressment. 🙂

It can work against characters far slower than Goku but the sayan will have no problem hitting a wide-open Superman trying to do circles around him completely off-guard. That's a suicidal attempt at best.

Goku can Ki-blast him from that distance without problem.
Or use his Instant Teleportation to TP behind Superman, one-shot him and TP back to Earth near a friend.

Absolutely not.
Goku isn't arrogant or stupid in combat.
He tend to toy with his opponent but here he already outclasses Superman while being in base form.
The tranformations (SSJ1, 2 , 3, Red and Blue) are just a complete overkill.
A goku powering-up can already drain Superman of his Solar Energy the same way Major Force drained Superman of it just with his Dark Quantum Energy (= Chi) blasts...
Goku powering-up already makes the planet shakes. That will be enough to drop Superman without trying.

You can't move in space either, without propulsion.
Somehow, Lobo does both things. Moved around without his bike and everything in a few stories 🙂.
He carries around "guilt grenades" that affect The Mask, for gads sake. How much more "Loony toon's" can you get than having a grenade that makes quasi omnipotent characters depressed?
