How fast are they? How strong? Who knows. Somewhere between Gorgon and Superman, that's for certain, but no real way of determining their limits.
They aren't holding up mountain ranges or outracing radio waves, though. Not moving between "nanoseconds" like Lord Majestros, or zipping across universes like Surfer and Kyle Rayner.
And busting a planet, you know how many comic characters could do that? Gladiator, for one.. We also know he could swim through a star, which I'm "pretty" certain can destroy a planet. Lord Ravenous, he walks through black holes.. Yeah, space kills Saiyans and being in the middle of an exploding planet seriously messed up Freeza..
Goku and Beerus literally threatened the universe during their fight (at worst this is a high end multi-galactic feat, if this would have included destroying time and space, it was truly universal). We see planets and stars be destroyed as side effects. Champa literally destroyed a planet with a normal kick. Beerus can cross thousands of lightyears in two minutes.
You seem to be running on outdated information. Goku in his base form would easily defeat Superman now. The only Superman I am personally familiar with that could defeat him is Cosmic Armour Superman, and that's not even near standard equipment.
Although, the whole "universal threat" business is somewhat odd to begin with. When Goku's and Beerus' fists collide it sends these peculiar, unexplained, compounding ripples through space/time that gain energy as they expand, and eventually destroy everything in the universe. 😕
It really makes the wonky physics of DBS look like the universe buster rather than the gods.
EDIT: Just checked out the Beerus speed feat you mentioned too, that's really impressive TBH. I didn't expect Beerus' speed to be so close to Whis' teleportation.
It's not about it being impossible IRL, it's about the mechanics that were described. Their punches sent ripples through space that on nearby planets felt like a breeze, but gained energy as they traveled and vaporized planets on the edge of the universe. Essentially, the only strength feat that Beerus and Goku were responsible for is creating the ripples; the ripples themselves that started weak were what gained the energy to threaten the universe. The entire feat relies on physics unique to DB; their strength only indirectly affected the universe. The point remains that they're supposed to be universal-level beings, but it still always struck me as an odd way to handle it.
That being said, assuming he didn't use some special movement technique like Whis', Beerus' speed feat mentioned above is crazy. He'd have to be trillions of times faster than light...

I attribute it rather to beerus and his status as the god of destruction, it makes sense that his released energy destroys matter around him, magic that disrupts the matter. Re look at Super. Goku powered all the way down and then the laser damaged him. Superman almost got killed by a Nuke, something that Goku at a power level of 300 would've withstood.
No matter how much you want to low ball Beerus and Goku universal ft, they almost destroyed EVERYTHING with their punches. Everyone on earth gets turned to dust by Goku. Let's also not forget how fast Beerus is...how durable he is, and let's also not forget that during his fight against Champa, their fist fight almost destroy Universe 6 and 7.
