Basically, he speculates there won't be enough democratic turnout to propel Hillary over Trump. What he doesn't understand is that when it comes down to it, the American people will elect the lesser of two evils, and Trump's fearmongering has definitely symbolized him as the greater evil. Difference between democrats and republicans is that Sanders supporters who hate Hillary will support her if she gets nomination. Meanwhile there are republicans who say that if Trump gets the nomination, they'll vote democrat or not vote period. So it's pretty much the nightmare scenario the GOP didn't want: Trumps rhetoric scaring off a significant portion of the GOP constituency and thus losing the voters needed to win the presidency.

Definitely an opinion piece, but I'm not 100% sure Clinton can beat Trump like some people believe, I do think Trump has a chance. Her name carries baggage; lots of it, she's a woman, her controversies and a fairly successful smear-campaign all drag her down.
Really need to see how he does debating when it's 1v1 in the hypothetical (but likely) Clinton Vs Trump election. Thing is, even if he continues the hateful rhetoric, lies and dodging questions by answering them with nonsense and boast, ie being the demagogue he's been, it could continue to help him instead of sink him. He's built himself up to that, where people just don't care and are somehow impressed with his shtick.
