Well I think Bernie has the right ideas because I think universal healthcare and access to education should be innate human rights and not determined on net worth. I don't think people should be condemned to death and ignorance simply because they can't afford it.
Ok so the ideas are right because you think they're right. That's not really an argument but I respect your opinion. I certainly think that some type of education should be reduced if not made free. I don't think "free" education is an innate right on any level. I CERTAINLY don't think a useless degree should be free as opposed to a specialized one. You're not going to spend 6 figures getting a useless liberal arts degree, and then hope your student loans are forgiven. That's not how real life works.
But obviously you think different. You think whether a man lives or dies should be determined by the amount in their bank account.
That's not true. The fact that you would go to the other extreme shows how defensive and emotional you. There's a HUGE middle ground. I live in the middle ground because that's what's realistic. You're idealist to the point of naivete.
So please, explain why to me. I'm curious how one can put monetary value on human life. Tell me how you do it.
I'm against entitlement in general. I'm kinda supporting BASIC universal healthcare. In terms of education, at first I thought about abolishing a 4 year degree until I realized college is more about finding yourself and much less about education. So I would either drastically reduce the cost of getting a specialized degree but wouldn't even touch liberal arts. You want to waste time and money on art history, writing, etc, you pony up for that.. Or learn in high school. Why should the tax payer be responsible for your useless degrees? How about making the interest on student loans almost negligible like 2%? There are so many middle grounds here before even contemplating what you're saying, which is "Free". Then again I came here from communist Russia and my parents made something of themselves out of nothing so you'll excuse me if I laugh at the concept of "entitlement".
