Some of the quotes are published after his existence, and the fact that numerous authors in numerous sources across decades have supported the notion means that it's one of the most ingrained facts of all SW lore.

It's the most ingrained facts of all SW lore, that either doesn't take rather many Sith into account in the first place, limits itself to the movie universe, or is given through statements of in-universe characters.

As for flat earth society - that's synonymous to the "political power" arguments, when there's some quotes that blatantly refer to mastery of the dark side, lol.

To my knowledge there is specifically one quote (from a source only considering movie related stuff) that refers to his mastery in the Dark Side - and not even that. It calls him "the greatest master of evil ever to use Sith powers", which he certainly was in the movie only universe. That's like looking into this thread, ignoring all posters not named after SW characters and conclude Freedon Nadd is the best debater here. 😉

Several of your arguments revolve around the idea that claims from (certain) C-canon sources must be isolated to the material that the source covers, even if the claim specifically refers to history. Because, well, you don't want it to apply to history. The thing is, though, we don't need to rebut that. Because it's a made-up rule.

It's true though that "encyclopedias" and what not should take less precedence than feats. In Marvel Odin is weaker than Thor according to some guides but in comics that's not true. Ofc if the guides are backed up by the main canon like in Palpatines case then it's aight. Js that those against Palps quotes do have a legit argument.

Vader>Warb Null, that's pretty obvious. As about Sidious' being Ommin's counterpart, not much likely. As far as Sidious' Force strength goes; he's more likely around the level of a Dark Councilor of Emperor Vitiate. A Dark Councilor who's on the same or less level with Darth Nyriss. We know that the lightning which she directed towards Revan'd have turned him into ashes had not he directed it against her.
And keep in mind that Sidious' best lightning feat was to turn into charred husks three Dark Side Prophets--who were taken by surprise by the way. Bane has similary feats with Force lightning against two well armored soldiers and even a Force resistant Drexl. Exar Kun burned Gantoris inside out as a spirit and noted to be nowhere at his full Force strength.
As about Sithisis; it's nothing more but a metaphoric comic book made for the ROTS novel that describes Sidious' "complete" unification with the Dark Side(the whole worm-eating part) and that he managed to retain a friendly image beneath his evil intentions.
We actually see that his Force lightning never turned outrightly Force-users--who had their Force shields raised up--into charred husks.

So to answer your question: Palpatine's certainly not Ommin-tier; but more likely a strong Dark Councilor.Palpatine's the most powerful Sith of his time; that's no question.
Galen Marek is a proof, Yoda is a proof about Sidious' Force lightning.
