Shooting of Virginia Reporter and Cameraman

The shooter in a tragic incident Wednesday morning in which two journalists, 24-year-old Alison Parker and 27-year-old Adam Ward, at a local Virginia television station has been identified as 41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan II. Reports say he was a former employee of the station, and went as Bryce Williams on air. Sources have also said the shooter is one of the victim’s ex-boyfriend, presumably Parker.

According to the local ABC affiliate, WHSV, Williams has shot himself. Though earlier reports from WDBJ said Williams had killed himself, later reports were revised to say he was alive and in critical condition.

This is crazy, it happened on live television. And the shooter later uploaded a video of the shooting to facebook.

Saw this. Very tragic.

I guess the main story, besides the ever present "Why the **** are there so many guns, and guns in the hands of violent people" is we see everything now so closely, videos of most things are ubiquitous, this was caught on camera twice (by the attacker no less)...it's insane.

This is a sad event.

Not that I wish death upon people but it is annoying that he kills two people and the fails in killing himself; that would be better inverted.
