Imagine if the victims were black and the shooter was white, racism would be in every headline.Wow, the reporter was 24 and the cameraman 27. These two were only starting out with their careers, pretty tragic that a disgruntled man ended their lives short in a horrible way. I am confused though, why didn't the man go after the white ceo of the news station, going by Lestov16 logic.
If a black murders whites, its the gun fault. Not his own
If a white cop shoots a black man, its racial and police brutality.
If OJ kills two whites, its "cause he had money"
To be fair poverty is blamed more then guns. But let us not make this about race, this was a tragedy.
I think this just shows us we need some kind of better gun control. I wouldn't even know where to begin, but we need it. I mean this guy posted the video of the shooting on Facebook. That's not just a guy who likes shooting people, that goes into "he is most likely legitimately mentally ill" territory, so how did he even get a gun? Did he have a history of mental illness? These are things we need to know.
When things are called racism, there's usually some context. A white cop shooting a black guy for example could be seen as racist especially when it's discovered for example the black guy was running away and unarmed. Or using 8 officers to subdue a single man and ignoring his cries for help. Or jumping onto the hood of a car and firing 30+ rounds into the windshield when the people inside are unarmed. Or... you see where I'm going with this.
Seeing a white person kill two black people doesn't automatically make people scream "racist" as much as some of you like to believe.
If the white guy was like Storm Roof, then I'd definitely cry racist once the info came out. If the black guy shouted "F*ck you whitie, you cracker f*ck* or something before he shot, I'd call him a racist too. If it was just a seemingly random shooting, then I'd wonder what the hell happened until the info came out.
Also I wonder how long the jokes would have gone on if it was 2 army vets who got gunned down?

What does that (your last sentence) have to do with anything?

Oh. TI seems to have this habit of making light about murders and joking about pretty much everything not related to the military. But if a soldier is killed or even looked at wrong, something like that, he doesn't think it's funny and nobody is allowed to joke about it.

Wrong as usual.
So that's not you joking around on the first page of this thread about how you can kill 3 people easily with your bare hands(because you're not a weak computer nerd) and it's not the guns fault and people can't take jokes about someone murdering two people?
And you didn't post this from the Marine getting dishonorably discharged(not murdered in cold blood) for sending those e-mails when people were joking about it?

He sent those emails under duress to save lives.Quit joking around about this.
Any soldier is free of mockery and playing around because you were in the Army, but you've got free reign to joke about murder, police brutality, racism, political agendas, etc...?
The Marine sent those emails because his major cleared them, and was sending them letting people in Washington his base was being run by a terrorist and raspiest.
Get your facts straight before you go all roger ram jet and look like a puppy with this tail btw his legs from MVF.
Its obvious this shooting was racially motivated, get on topic already.
Whats the matter MVF is dead so you follow me in here?
Im sorry your fantasy world there has fallen apart.
Shouldn't have watched it. Very creepy, sad, and horrible.
Part of his manifesto goes on to say he always considered himself a powder keg that would explode at any moment, that he admired the Columbine shooters. He also said he though he was racist, and thought the people he killed were racist.
Seems as though he has attempted to justify his killings in all manner of ways.
It also says he believes he was discriminated against at work for being gay.
His house was filled with pictures of himself as a reporter and stuff.
So this dude was way out of his mind.

Actually, on a different tack of the racism issue, I am interested to see the plethora of news reports saying the gunman was 'disturbed'. This is interesting because terms like 'disturbed' are ones that people have been accused of using to describe socially mainstream (i.e. white) shooters in an attempt to excuse them, whilst shooters of other ethnicities get called evil or violent.
It being used to describe a black shooter is a step forward in the social part of that debate. As to whether 'disturbed' is ever an appropriate term to use for a callous murderer, that's another argument- but at least it is being used less selectively.
