I do think Germany f*cked up because I do think that person had a point. They wanted to so badly be seen as this great country that is welcoming to everyone..without really putting actual rational thought into the process.
It doesn't mean they shouldn't of taken in anyone, but maybe limit the amount coming in so that you don't have people starving and living in tents and sleeping bags during winter.
On the other hand some refugee's need to stop behaving in certain ways. Some act as if they are truly grateful, but others tend to sometimes come off like they feel Germany owes them something.
I don't know if others saw it, but about a year ago Subway removed pork products from nearly 200 restaurants in the UK. Guess why?

Germany is ****ed, and at this point there is no going back. They will be taken over and their culture will be replaced within 20-30 years because Germans are not having kids anymore.
These refugees are coming to Europe either way, Germany taking less just means that one of our neighboring countries has to take more. Perhaps some other European countries could and should do more, but these are people and they need to be treated with dignity, which is our duty as humans. It is a challenge, but I am pretty sure, like Merkel said, that we will rise to it.
The article surtur posted, while highlighting some of the challenges, particularly for the bureaucracy in Berlin, also shows some of the positive aspects coming from this. It's still very early, but I am optimistic that things will get considerably better soon, and that those seeking asylum justly will be accepted as is their right, and can work on a fresh start in Europe to become productive members of our countries.
Going back through this thread and seeing how much people were against the idea of not taking them, and all the while I was a dement this was a horrible idea. Then after being in Paris during the attacks and the continued trouble with this, seems everyone's that was for it doesn't post in these threads anymore and won't admit they were wrong.

I still post in these threads and haven't changed my opinion.

That's probably because arguing with Star and his ilk is about as productive as smashing your head against a brick wall.
