Sigh...While he was trapped on Earth, Surfer was a LOT less powerful. I can pretty much guarantee that no one can find anything from that period to indicate he's above low herald. The closest thing he has is a single battle where he overpowered Mephisto inside his realm and I think we can all agree that feats like those have to be taken with a grain of salt. I understand people being worried about me finding a way to worm some of his more powerful stuff from vol 3 in, but the rules against amping and unlocking full potential outright ban that kind of thing. I plan on using Surfer from that period only and while he was still extremely versatile he definitely didn't break the bar into mid herald as far as raw power goes. We're talking about a time when he had to amp to match Thing's strength, got one shotted by Magneto, and acknowledge a far less powerful version of Dr. Doom as being his equal in power(Doom's had a truckload of upgrades since then).

Power Output or Raw power alone is not the lone reason why Silver Surfer is regarded as High Herald. The application of his Power of Cosmic, and Cosmic Awarness, aka his all knowing mind, and his control over matter/energy and internalizing or regulating said energies are his key reasons for him being ranked High Herald. And thats if you over look his physical stats.
Look we've all read the short story where Doom Steals the powers of Silver Surfer. That was a weaken Silver Surfer you speak off. Doom still wielded Power of Cosmic as good as Surfer. And said demonstration was up thier with Full Power Surfer himself.
Nay to Surfer at Low or Mid herald.

ss matched loki in overall power. he faced down mephisto in that time as well, and had a scuffle with the stranger. the shark era ss has always made me laugh. he was rarely treated differently while he was on earth.

Surfer was weaker back then and didn't have the tons of feats he's accumulated since. The Surfer I'm talking about using will be restricted to using those feats, and using those feats he was low herald.
And Doom did NOT match full powered Surfer's showings. He did nothing on the scale of creating blackholes or anything like that. He did use some interesting applications of Surfer's power, but nothing outside the low herald range.

Matching Loki is impressive and most likely something I'll be using, but Loki's not really know for a lot of raw power. And when matching Loki's power is among your high end feats it doesn't really take you out of the Low herald range when guys like AM have matched/overpowered Thor and are still considered low herald. His Mephisto showings are suspect because Meph has since said that he always held back against Surfer cause he didn't want to kill him, that's why I said his Meph showing has to be taken with a grain of salt. And with Stranger, LOTS of people have scuffled with him. Pretty sure Mar-Vell did too, and Mar-Vell is low herald.
As for him not being treated differently back then, nowadays Surfer wouldn't have to amp to match Thing's strength

Seriously people, when like people Absorbing Man, Omega Vulcan, Invisible Boy, and Magneto are being drafted as low heralds how is depowered Surfer any kind of stretch? He's got good feats but he's also got bad feats, just like everybody else. I challenge anyone to actually show WHY he'd be more than low herald by nowadays standards back in that era. I have his best feats ready to use, and I can pretty much guarantee it's not possible. He's very versatile, but not ultra powerful by low herald standards. No uber feats, no (valid)uber combat showings, no reason not to allow him as low herald other than "he's Surfer".
Magneto alone has defeated Proteus, manipulated a Celestial, stomped Phoenix and he's still in the low Herald tier. A couple of highs for Surfer during this era doesn't change the fact that he can be classified as what I said above.

Had a feeling you were crying so I clicked on your post and yep, you were. Anyways, if you must know, I asked Escada for Darkness scans and info (please send him a PM and he will most definitely confIrm I asked him. I sent One dumb a PM that I will probably never get an answer too asking him to loan me some Doctor Doom scans for my next BZ and I asked a couple of other people here INCLUDING DarthGoober for some scans and info. I will ask Galan for some scans and probably some detail on canon material and I will probably go to Leo as well for some scans and I WILL most definitely as Delta along with a couple of others for scans (cry baby). All the people I've named here, please feel free to ask them about my PM. Sad to say, Escada said he can't help me because he lost all of his material and I know jack crap about Darkness but I will still probably use him.
