Jessica Jones

I've watched 2 episodes. And wow, it has been dreary so far. Everyone is just constantly miserable. It's actually a bit off-putting. Feels like I got conned into watching Grey's Anatomy (because whenever I do catch a glimpse of that show, everyone always seems depressed).

I'll cosign a lot of the criticisms of S2. Slow, dreary, etc. I'm almost done (two eps. to go) and nothing in the show has really moved my meter. I don't mind more slowly developing, slightly dour character pieces, and I was actually ok with it through the first handful of episodes. But there hasn't been much else in this show. And I say this as a fan of pretty much everything else Netflix has done in the MCU. I had scattered criticisms of other seasons (IF, JJ1, 2nd half of Cage), but can honestly say I've enjoyed each. This may be the first where I can't.

I literally fell asleep during episode 9 lol

That really turned into nothing in the last 4-5 episodes, I was enjoying it up until that point as well.

Jessica's superpower could have been replaced by someone who could overpower random thugs and it wouldn't have changed a thing. Except the bus scene but that could just as easily have been changed to just her mother or them running to the front and stopping it like a normal human.

Forget how far I am, probably around ep8, but his is mediocre all the way. Was hoping for more, let down.

Decent point. Forget any super powers. She could have been a regular PI with, say, some basic self-defense training, and the entire season still would have worked with only the tiniest of tweaks.

Powers don't need to be the focus of the show. But it's a superhero show, after all. In several ways, this season forgot that fact.

I feel like the end was teasing Hellcat
At the very least they got the show gave the characters an actual arc even if I wasn’t satisfied with the direction they took Patricia during the mid season. The writing was still more tight than Iron Fist

Not great, but not bad either.

Trish was the real villain this season.

And a villain against music too. If I hear someone use the word cray in their lyrics one more time lol

Ok uh...eeesh. Saw the final episode and did not see that coming.

My goodness and this person is supposed to be Hellcat whether in JJ S3 (good luck with that) or if she gets her own show. I don't care if she gets a redemption arc. What happened this whole season made her so undeserving of having powers so much that she better bump into X-Men's Rogue around a corner soon and lose them.

Finished it last night, all in all, a very mediocre season.

I only have one episode to go, but I have really been struggling with this one. It's by far the longest I've ever taken to finish a MCU Netflix series. It's been slow, dreary, and very light on action for a comic book show. Hell, it barely feels like one at all, even with the occasional superpower showings.

But the absolute worst part for me is the characters. Something pretty dramatic would need to happen in the last episode to redeem a lot of them, because most have been awful. The only half-decent one is Malcolm, and he constantly gets shit on. This season so far has really soured Jessica as a character for me, and made me utterly despise Trish. I will probably watch the last episode tonight, but I really don't have my hopes up.

Overall, a massive letdown, especially since I consider the first season to be one of the strongest of any of the MCU Netflix shows.

Dismal, dreary and dull is the only way to describe this. The first seven episodes are completely pointless. The last four episodes are the only ones worthwhile and even they do not make up for the rest of the series. The only character I liked was Jeri (badass!).

i totally agree with much of the sentiments. i do like the mother daughter angle but i could def do away with Geri's plight. that, to me, ****ed up the pacing so bad.

I finally finished the last episode. And while some characters did in fact redeem themselves somewhat, Trish can go die in a fire.

Season two puts DC movies to shame as far as dark and dreary are concerned. Season two was dark, boring, and depressing. Pretty much every character was a legit shit bag. How is this season in the 70% range on rotten tomatoes?

Rotten Tomatoes is kind of a joke nowadays, so I am actually not that surprised.

Fell asleep after watching the 3rd episode of this, though after reading some of these posts I'm not really motivated to try to watch this again.

I finished it, liked the first season better. This one wasn't bad but...eh.
