They really destroyed her character making her go full "queen of the ashes" mode. Given her encounters and knowledge of people like kilgrave and the reason she gave for killing JJ mom in season 2, having her go down a similar path was horrible writing to me. So much other stuff could have been done with Trish, I wonder if this ending would have stayed the same if the Marvel shows on netflix wasn't over.
It was a long time coming though, and you could actually see a progression of it across the seasons. Nags Jessica do be more heroic in S1, pressuring her more and more to do things she doesn't want to, gets fed up and forces the issue to get her own powers in S2, causing chaos and death in the process, goes crazy with said power in S3, losing the plot completely.

Yeah, I will give credit where credit is due. Trish was a colossal POS, but the actress who plays her really gave it her all in the performance. You really did get the crazy, desperate vibe coming off her.
