It takes a special sort of coward to pick theological and philosophical battles with children. If there's a bullying problem in our schools this is it. - See more at: http://americanactionnews.com/articles/video-this-7th-grader-was-forced-to-deny-god-or-fail-what-she-did-will-inspire-you#.dpuf

I fully agree with you there

Nice to see how highly regarded education, epistemology, educators, knowledge and rationality is on this board. 👆

Yes, sure. Based on context. Obviously a teacher shouldn't always pick up fights.

Obviously he shouldn't always avoid them either (since his work is about engaging). So I wouldn't be categorical about him being downright "wrong" even if as a writer I can call him "clumsy".

Of how I view authority. Finance also. Western societies pretty much run on fear.

Also teachers are a cowardly and supersticious lot.

That's not true of all teachers though. I've known many good teachers in my life. They never did anything to make me believe they were cowardly or superstitious (which isn't really a bad charateristic, anyway). This teacher though who was bullying these kids to make them say "God is not real" should not be allowed to teach anywhere in America. 👆

Who were the idiots here saying "the teacher didn't do this?"😂

Bashar is one, obviously. Lot of the people who posted I have on ignore but I'm sure several of them were probably saying similar bullshit about it being a lie or "she did nothing wrong" or something equally ridiculous.

So did you guys not see the photo of the assignment then or do you feel the photo is fake?

Plus you guys must realize the true victim here is the manatee. Has the damn word "mana" in its name and people still don't realize the magic of these creatures.

The photo is real but how does that make what the teacher did not true?

yup, evidence dodged once again, as expected.

you are, factually, a lying coward. 👆

The photo is real but how does that make what the teacher did not true? The photo is of the assignement, in which the teacher said any answer saying God is real is wrong.👆

So it's you who is a dodging coward👆

the reason you don't understand why the thread title is a lie is because you don't know what "commonplace assertion" means. i already posted the definition on page 9 or you can just google.

nah just dodge the glaring evidence. don't let facts get in the way of defending your special internet bro friend. 👆

I wasn't basing my opinion off the thread title. I was basing it off the the video as well as the assignment.

Do you think the little girl is lying?

No, people think the girl is wrong. The exercise literally does not have an option to say God is a myth, so saying that the teacher only allowed such an answer is clearly not the case.

There has to be some basic logic and rationality when discussing these things.

And the girls testimony, of her saying the teacher said any answer other then God does not exist is wrong? What is that called?

It's called classic bullying. Don't bother arguing with these atheists, TI. They'll never admit the truth here.

Pay attention to what you are talking about, TI. The girl claimed the teacher said that you could not call God fact or opinion, but only say God is a myth. The exercise paper proves the girl is wrong- the other choice was commonplace assertion, not myth. That is NOT saying that God does not exist.

Star, I am now completely out of patience of your worthless, aggressive posts of that nature. The next one gets you banned.

Usually a myth refers to something not based in reality. Like mythology.

I see this as a run about way of saying God does not exist.

If the teacher said any answer was wrong based on her own beliefs. That to me is wrong.

Sounds like the girl misunderstood.

Fair enough
