Why wouldn't a teacher want to argue something with an student? Teaching is all about challenging notions and stimulation.

If u really believe the bullshit that it's a lie then just don't post in thread. Is that so hard to do? Or can you just not resist your uncontrollable urge to troll everytime I post a thread in religion forum? Go away, troll.
To be fair, Star, it's a public forum. If people post something, others are going to look in to it if it interests them. It isn't trolling to say it's a lie, because it can easily seem that way.
Especially considering the picture of the test that was posted.

I mean you've already stated that you believe it's a lie and you've even got all your liberal butt buddies to agree with you so why continue to post in thread since there's really no point anymore? Especially since all you're doing now is trolling both myself and TI. Are you really so arrogant to think that you're going to get us to agree with you that this little girl is lying? If that's the case then let me save you the time and effort: THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. EVER... So all you're really doing, Bash, by continuing to claim it's a lie is beating a dead horse. 👆
is it that you don't know what "commonplace assertion" means?
here you go:
"A commonplace assertion is an assertion that is held to be true by most people but not backed up with facts."
you claimed that a child was forced to say that god does not exist. you were wrong. if you continue pushing this topic, then yes you are a liar and a valid target of mockery.

Are you a teacher/do you have a job where you deal with young people (i did)?
There are many reasons someone in a position of authority wouldnt want to argue with them.
Yes, sure. Based on context. Obviously a teacher shouldn't always pick up fights.
Obviously he shouldn't always avoid them either (since his work is about engaging). So I wouldn't be categorical about him being downright "wrong" even if as a writer I can call him "clumsy".

One is fear. The fact that fear is the reason that you tried to foist on me, is rather telling on how you view kids.
Of how I view authority. Finance also. Western societies pretty much run on fear.
Also teachers are a cowardly and supersticious lot.

Anyhow, i see this thread has turned into the usual General Discussion debacle so, dont read any fear on my part into it if i dont respond to anything you might have to say to all this.
No need to assume the worse. This discussion already gave me some nice insights so I can only thank you for it.
It takes a special sort of coward to pick theological and philosophical battles with children. If there's a bullying problem in our schools this is it. - See more at: http://americanactionnews.com/articles/video-this-7th-grader-was-forced-to-deny-god-or-fail-what-she-did-will-inspire-you#.dpuf
