Planned Parenthood hostage situation

I was talking overall. You wanted to go into specifics and in my experience on THIS board that is basically asking for a shit storm.

So maybe that clears it up, but in general there is no "this side is worse" type stuff. Which since you responded to me saying that with "in specific situations?" that leads me to believe we are in agreement.

I didn't mean to say everyone is equal in every category. That is why I wasn't exactly arguing with you about the specific situations thing.

Planned Parenthood Shooting Suspect Made Comment About "No More Baby Parts"

"The day after a gunman killed three people and shot nine others at a Colorado Planned Parenthood office, officials . . . say the suspect talked about politics and abortion.

Robert Lewis Dear, a North Carolina native who was living in a trailer in Colorado, made statements to police Friday at the scene of the Colorado Springs clinic and in interviews that law enforcement sources described as rantings.

In one statement, made after the suspect was taken in for questioning, Dear said 'no more baby parts' in reference to Planned Parenthood, according to two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the case.

. . . He also mentioned President Barack 'Obama was ruining the country and needed to be impeached.'"

Thanks Obama

That's just messed up. You understand this guy is parroting the stances of people you keep supporting.

Not that I condone this guy's actions but he's 100% right. Especially about the partof Obama destroying the country and needing to be impeached. It should've happened a looooong time ago. 👆

-So he's a person who swallowed those fake/doctored videos and decided to react violently on it

-Seems to be politically Right leaning

Or he's mentally disturbed individual with right-wing leanings? Clue would be the "rantings" and such from the witness testimony.

Still going to wait til after the investigation to see what brought this on, tho.

Possible he's mentally unstable, but why do we automatically fallback on and assume "oh, he was just crazy cray" when it's a Caucasian offender?

Fair enough, but it seems he specifically targeted PP because of the "they sell baby parts" lie that's being spread by that hate group. That and Obama Derangement Syndrome, aka ODS.

I don't know. Personally, I'm not white so I don't really have any stake on automatically falling back on that assumption. It just seems like at this point that the guy does sound like he's suffering from some form of mental issue. As ranting is not really something common to ppl with a clear head. I would say the same if he was black or asian or whatever race. Let's take away his race for now and just go with what the witness said about the guy's behavior. Does it sound like he was in his right state of mind to you?

That might well be true. But one has to wonder how much motivation a mentally deranged person who wants to kill people would need to kill people. Just because some guy who think he's the Joker gets his jollies from shooting people in a cinema, doesn't mean that the Batman movie is to blame.

I, for one, will keep myself posted on the news up until we know for sure.

You should be concerned that you're exaggerating the opposition to the point people are dying from it.

Obama has not done anything impeachable, 'you dislike something,' does not equal unconstitutional (I've even pointed out to you specifically what constitutional clause allows the Affordable Care Act), and simply demonizing someone does not make it true. It's falsehood borne of simple frustration of him opposing your side, he's not what you make him out to be.

You should be concerned that propaganda is leading to people acting like this, because it harms your side. It makes you look like you turn a blind eye to attacks like this. It makes you look like the side of violent criminals, and with statements like the ones you just made? That only strengthens the connection.

It's a bit of an American phenomenon.

See what I mean though, without purposely trying to, you've already bought into the "oh, he must have been mentally unstable to do this" scenario.

Good post. It's rather concerning what sheep-think can lead some people to do.

Doubt the group that purposely doctored the PP videos to lie about the illegal selling of "baby parts" can be held even partially accountable for this guy's actions, but hopefully they at least feel bad that their lies helped kill three people.

I remember a time when I argued that an inflammatory anti-islamic video was to blame for the embassy attack (not sure if that was Benghazi, however, that was some time ago) that cost lives. And ppl certainly argued against me when I made that comment. Admittedly, I made that argument when I was still new to these forums and my thinking has changed since then.

Thing is, tho, how is this different from that?

Well, I'm Asian and I don't really believe in race being an indicator of anything. Bad ppl or ppl in bad situations (like mental illness) do bad things.

I think it's more logical to assume that crazy ppl do crazy things rather than political rhetoric making normal ppl do crazy things don't you think?

LOL@ "fake/doctored videos". Yeah sure. They were fake, alright. 🙄

Whatever helps you lefties sleep at night. 👆

So there's a vast government conspiracy allowing them to murder unborn children on tape and face no consequences? I do believe the president of PP went before a right-wing congressional committee and was found to have committed no wrong doing, so let's stick to the facts, eh?

At the face of it I think we all agree, however we can also agree that it is not the case in the media or among many people. I'm not sure on whether we can agree that both you and me are also influenced by said media, even if it's only subconsciously, at any rate I do know I am.

But we don't always assume he is just "crazy" when it is a white guy..especially on this forum. I've seen topics where people assumed a racist agenda before getting any real facts.

So it's not a thing that is automatically done for anyone. Now I know the go to response will be "well it's done more for whites" which is a fine and dandy thing to point out, saying it happens automatically is just False though, with a capital F.

I think by "we" Robtard means "society", not "KMC".

But see society doesn't always do it either so either way it's wrong. Not that they don't do it, but it's not 100% of the time.

Before anyone says it, the media does not represent all of society either.
