Gun Sales Surge after terrorist Attack...
...and Obama's increased talk of gun control:
More people are waking up, it seems.

I think that depends on the government's response. If we do like we did after 9/11, then we might dilute our liberties for the illusion of safety.I think what you're not considering is the well-being of all the Muslims in America who aren't radicalized. They're Americans too, and the instant we start thinking that profiling them will make us safer is the instant we compromise the values this country is supposed to stand for.
What is this country supposed to stand for? Do not say freedom, since it's been a long time since we even came close to standing for that.
People seem to have this idealized version of America in their heads that doesn't match the reality we've been living with for the past 60-80 years. Just like when you hear old people talk about "oh in my day things were better" even though no it really wasn't they just have very selective memories.
On the other hand I am hearing that if you are on a terror watch list you can still buy guns because of some loophole. A loophole the NRA apparently doesn't want closed. Which if true is reason enough why the NRA shouldn't be a thing anymore.
It also needs to be discussed why some people in this country feel they should have the right to own assault rifles. Or just that they feel they need to own an assault rifle in general. It sure as hell isn't to go hunt deer.

They're also not very good for home defense, as their higher velocity bullets can easily break through walls. Imagine using an AR-15 against a home invasion and shooting your kid through their bedroom walls.
A pump shotgun is all you'll ever need to protect your house, and nothing says "get the **** out" like hearing a shotgun getting racked.

I hunt with an AR..so does almost everyone I know..
I googled it, and this came up:
He has some decent points, and some crazy ones (I imagine him living on a farm surrounded by gangs of hogs with lasers on their heads the way he talks). I hadn't considered the advantage of a followup shot, but it still feels unnecessary.
I know two people with AR-15s. Neither of them use it for hunting (they don't hunt). One guy for sure bought it specifically for 'when the government collapses and Obama's army comes'.
He tried to get his hands on a second one, tried to have his father-in-law purchase it for him because he feared the government would them put him on a "list". Not sure if that ever panned out.
