I'm curious, did you think only you read the comic? First it's from Marvel UK, a different imprint and rather non canonical.

Second, even characters like Captain America and Black Knight were right there and they were y'know unharmed.

Surfer gets caught inside a reality warping cosmic storm created by a being who could "manipulate the building blocks of the galaxy" a being that was "bending the fabric of reality as easily as one might crush an egg shell." Surfer tanks it long enough to make telepathic contact.

The multitude was a represented as a spear in the 5th dimension, but manifests itself as a massive army of millions of angels in the 3rd dimension.

Superman in your scans gets overwhelmed and beaten up by a handful of 6 to 8 angels out of millions there. In other words, he was beaten by a fraction of a fraction of the multitude.

You trying to spin it as if he tanked an attack that could kill a 5D imp is just asinine.

Surfer has grown in power since then. Why use scans of a weaker Surfer when we know it holds nothing against the latest version. Its like using DOS Superman in reference for the later versions even though we know he became more powerful.
