Another bomb for DC

It wasn't a money thing. According to reports they spent $300m on Flash. An interview with the director he said he actually planned the bad CGI to show Barry's perspective. His perspective is so slow that it looks like bad CGI. It's supposed to be purely an artistic decision. A little silly but that's why. That being the case I don't know why they didn't add a line for you Barry saying how stuff looked like a bad movie at speed.

If that's the case, it was a bad move, cos it just looked like bad CGI in some scenes.

Not sure most the audience knows the details of that tbh.
ezra's bullshit has been public knowledge for some time now. he is a piece of trash, and i have no doubt that his antics detoured ALOT of people from seeing the movie in theaters.

not saying thats the sole reason why it bombed, but i'm sure it played a part.

It’s been known for anyone who knows the guys name, just not sure that applies to like 80% of the audience. Ezra is hardly a household name.

I might be wrong as just going off anecdotal evidence, but im finding myself explaining to people the controversy behind him. Although atm people are reading it as a reason the film bombed.

^ Oh but one consequence of the Ezra debacle that definitely would have impacted the box office was no full press tour with the movies main star.

Blue Beatle/Aquaman are DOA and will probably flop just as bad.

I think that's what the post credit scene is for. To sell the idea that Aquaman is the same in every universe in the mutliverse, so that it won't suffer the stigma of being attached to the DCEU.

I'm sure that's why the blue Beetle director is giving interviews saying its part of the DCU not connected to the movies of the past.

probably

Darth Thor's correct that this film is suffering now in part, due to a lack of pre-release touring, since Miller is a toxic assclown. Cos this film isn't terrible, it should be making more money.

Cos this film isn't terrible

They've had a whole lot of time to polish this turd.

And it shows, cos it's for the most part pretty fun, even with shit-tier CGI in several scenes.

You should watch it 🙂

👆

I definitely get the Ezra-hate, as the guy is a complete shit human irl... But yeah, the movie is definitely worth watching.

Tell Stilt to watch it or ban-hammer.

Stilt is unbannable. He simply... Is.

So the DCU ends with George Clooney as the canon Batman. Bold choice, but I can dig it.

^ Spoilers. But agree it was a fun way to let us know these films are finished.

One Ezra is enough to make it unwatchable.

And this one has what, 2 Ezras? I'll pass.

it's the best Superhero movie since before Covid imho.

Unsurprisingly, Ezra Miller was effeminate and annoying. But honestly, the thing that bothered me the most was how pointless the movie felt. It was so heavily tied into a franchise that we know is effectively dead, and didn’t do anything to establish an identity of its own.

I kind of agree with the pointlessness, but I took it as a sequel and ignored the idea it was meant to be an ongoing universe originally as a finale for part of the DCUniverse as it were, in fact kind of for Hypertime. Beyond that, I'll grant you it's as worthless as any movie saving the universe a gazillion times. In its plus column it did have a bit more human interest than most Superhero films of recent years, didn't it?

I enjoyed this movie a lot. Keaton killed it as we all knew he would, aside from a few jokes landing flat I thought Ezra did a fine job as both Barrys as well. The emotional core of the movie was great, I really felt for Barry and understood why hes risk ****ing up the timeline. Affleck last hurrah was a decent one too. The only things I didn't really care for was that opening. scene with the babies (dumb) and the terrible CGI whoever both Eras were shown on screen together. The cameos were fine and also very cool, I knew exactly what the director was going for with the odd looking CGI. Overall a fun movie that ive seen 2.5 times and plan to see again!

I don't really know much about the Ezra controversy. Probably best I didn't as I also enjoyed him in this. 👆 Fortunately as with so many actors, it probably wouldn't have mattered for my enjoyment of the film as the part a person plays isn't them in reality and I can distinguish that easily without it affecting my enjoyment. Good post mate!
