The Shutdown of Democracy

I find the irony funny, don't you?

Funny, because it's happened a few times to me just driving through France.

Yeah, there were a lot of protests here in Prague at the height of the Crimea crisis, but never to the point where roads were blocked off completely. Even public transport ran normally, albeit slower than usual.

The French are known to protest and go on strike a lot though. When I worked for an airline we had to deal with French air traffic controllers going on strike every other week.

I don't see any irony here.

What's funny about beating up someone that's not fighting? Especially when you know that if he fights back you have hundreds of people to jump him? I call that being a coward and shameful.

The irony is he is a black man, beating up a anti trump protestor.

How is that irony? How is that funny? How does that help or better Democracy and the right of free speech?

Was this thread not meant to shame people who tried to block Trumps rally? Now you're telling me it's funny to stop people from expressing free speech?

Okay stop. Considering people were claiming Trump supporters were racist and all this, yes it is ironic if a black man beats down an anti-trump supporter.

is someone actually denying this is irony?

i'm happy to see a black person backing trump rather than being brainwashed by the clintons

Okay, given the context of the thread, explain how it's funny?

And using the definition of irony, explain how it's ironic.

It's a very simple request to which you didn't address, it would have been better off if you didn't even comment on it if you weren't ready to explain.

And a Trump supporter being black doesn't make a racist not racist. We have videos of Trump supporters yelling racist slurs to black and Hispanic protesters and now because one black guy beats up a protester, that somehow erases the racism?

Come on.

Let me ask, does the actions of a certain Trump supporters mean all Trump supporters are racist?

Nobody said anything about erasing any racism or anything like that. All I said was that it was ironic, which it is. If you need that explained to you as to why then well, there is no explanation I could really give you then.

I never said it was or wasn't funny you will note.

I also agree it doesn't erase the racism. Sort of like how when a cop kills a black guy it doesn't erase gang violence. So believe me, I DEFINITELY get the whole "this one bad thing doesn't erase the other bad things" line of thought.

Here's an amazing fact for you. People with certain matching criteria (like skin colour) don't automatically have all the same opinions on every issue

It works like this

Not all Trump supporters are racists (but some are)
Not all black people hate Trump (but some do)
Not all muslims hate the West (but some do)
Not all computer nerds are Virgins (but some are)

The problem lies in the fact that we allow our media outlets to portray a minority opinion as representative of the majority because controversy and division sells more.

But that doesn't change the irony of the situation. It doesn't mean I think..any of those things you felt the need to list.

But there's nothing ironic about it. It'd be ironic if all Trump supporters WERE racist and all black people DID hate Trump but seeing as that's not true then there's no irony.

No, you just don't know what irony actually means. You're just using it to mean "unexpected" or "surprising" (from your perspective anyway).

Yes you are the all seer of irony. Yes you, Omega..

No, I just understand what it means.

Yet you are blind to seeing it, sjw.

Lol. No, I understand what you and Surtur think is irony, but it's just not. Give up and move on.

So wait when two people tell you are wrong, you want us to move on?

How about you move on.
