Not getting that optimistic about JL just yet still, despite WW's success.

Well yeah it's not like WW's success will improve the quality of JL. I think people mean in terms of its financial success.

Still WW could be the first sign of things being done better at DC films since Geoff Johns was made a co-head. I just hope he had a hand with the script like he did with WW.

WW and JL will both beat Thor 3.

Thor 3 will crush WW.

nope ,,,, first things first though, transformers then spidey will crush wonder woman

WW has a chance at 400 million domestic. Transformers and Thor won't come close.

Transformers might not even hit 200 million domestic.

At this point, WW beating Spidey domestically wouldn't surprise me. Though, WW has no chance against any of these movies worldwide.

WW is doing great and that's the good thing.

Yeah it's been over 10 years since any Spidey film crossed $300mill domestic. And 15 years since any even came close to $400mil, and the only thing be that's ever actually crossed $400mill is the first Ramai one.

I'm still kind of surprised by its overall numbers though. I mean it is doing great in the US and Canada, but it's not doing as well in the rest of the world as one might expect. Obviously, it's not doing badly, but I kind of expected more, given the positive reception.

It's actually breaking records in the Philippines. It's also doing very well in Latin America and Brazil. It should do 350-400 M OS, which is awesome for an origin movie.

WW had an increase this weekend here in my country. WOW

From deadline:

Still kicking ass overseas after three frames, WB/DC’s Amazon warrior cuffed $39.5M on roughly 16,390 screens in a total of 62 markets. The running international cume is now $297.2M. The global gross is $571.8M.

The Gal Gadot-starrer has now topped the offshore lifetimes of The Wolverine, Thor and Iron Man. Germany was a new play at No. 1 while the UK and Brazil held the top spot this session.

In China, the princess landed 3rd with a total to date of $82.7M. (On deck in the Middle Kingdom, Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight will suck all air out of the market this week.) Regionally, EMEA dipped 42% and Lat Am by 26%. Asia has put Diana Prince on top of Man Of Steel, Suicide Squad and Guardians 2.

Germany‘s bow came in on par with Man Of Steel, and was well ahead of Marvel comps including The First Avenger and Ant-Man. Holland also joined the charge with $982K (875K euros), including sneaks, on 186 screens. And Norway debuted to $810K (NOK 6.9M), including sneaks, on 240 screens, ranking a clear No. 1 and on par with Logan.

The Top 5 markets are China ($82.7M), Brazil ($23.7M/+16%), the UK ($20.7M), Mexico ($18.9M) and Australia ($15.3M).

Anyway, it is still definitely the film the DCEU needed. The previous films also made money, but this one is not only making money, but doing much better in terms of overall reception from fans and critics alike. A little bit of goodwill goes a long way.

Just went and saw this finally and I liked it well enough. Its heads and shoulders better than the last 3 WB/DC crap fests, but it was still just an average superhero flick. I would put it up there with the first Cap movie or maybe Thor 2. It started to drag pretty bad for me at the midway point and I almost nodded off a couple times. Ares was poorly done. Guy looked like Principle Rooney from Ferris Buellers Day Off. The 70's porn mustache just wasnt very menacing. I didnt care for the CGI lasso either. She did have some nice feats in the movie though. I thought Gadot was fine and she's nice to look at. Decent movie.

7/10

I didn't think Ares was any worse done than like Red Skull in the first Capt America or some example like that, but to each their own.

lol transformers will most likely make $200 plus domestic and clearly $1 billion worldwide...

Spidey will also open up very nicely

T5 is doing horrible. As for Wonder Woman!

I seem to recall some of the Marvel nuthuggers laughing that this movie "only" made 103 million opening weekend, as it turns out this movie will out gross Deadpool!

😂

WW will be #2 this weekend and when it's all said and done, this movie will have the best legs of any super hero movie ever. Never expected this.

The DCEU doesn't do sequels 😛

They confirmed a Man of Steel 2 in the eventual works, but after BvS it came too late, though it could still be better than it and even the first MoS. Still have more confidence in a Wonder Woman 2 as it is though.
