It was during the final fight. They idiotically called it "supernova" flame but, based on the temperature readings Torch was giving of when he did it in the containment chamber Reed built, his high end temperatures were around the surface temperature of the Sun. Though in the context of this match, still impressive. Doom was exposed to that level of heat for several seconds, and in the end it only started to melt/heat him up, but he was still mobile and talking. It was rapidly cooling his limbs again, after that intense heat, which locked his joints into place, turning him into a metal statue.
But Bucky and Cap do not have that level of heat or cold on hand, so it won't help them even remotely.

But seriously, if this was not some kind of spite thread, please indulge me Golem. What did you think Cap and Bucky could actually do to stop Doom?
It took the entire FF working together, exploiting the environment, and using things Cap/Bucky don't have access to (sun temp flames and a strategically placed hydrant) to stop him.
Even noob Thing was strong enough to drag around fully loaded firetrucks, yet his blows didn't do anything to Doom. Hell, even in FF2, when Doom makes his return after the London Eye fiasco, Thing slams him into a concrete wall hard enough to crater it, and Doom again takes no actual damage. And after he gets stripped of SS's power at the end of the film, Ben knocks him hundreds of yards away, into a lake, with an enormous wrecking ball, yet we still see him conscious and limbs moving as he sinks to the bottom.
So how was the team going to take him out?

He is slower but not so slow that he won't get his hands on them eventually. And he is a lot stronger and more durable than either. Also, Cap's shield can stop lightning, assuming he can actually block every single blast directed at him which, considering the speed electricity travels, is going to be pushing it. And there is no evidence he could actually deflect the lightning blast back at Doom (lightning doesn't quite operate like a repulsor blast), and even if he could, it would have no effect, considering we literally see Doom draw power from the city, and huge arcs of electricity shooting into his body, only powering him up further.
So your argument is that Cap is going to essentially solo Doom (as Bucky has no shield here) with Doom's own powers, which Doom has shown immunity to?
