Agreed. Sure, it make sense to send one down south to prove they exist. But going across the Wall to capture one seems like it should be doomed to failure.

book readers should be wondering "wow did tyrion doom westeros by ignoring alastair thorne's request for the king/hand to see the undead arm he had brought to kings landing with him?"

i remember he just kept stalling thorne for months until arm/hand rotted and disintegrated. that would have been proof right there.

On a different note, this episode was horrendously rushed. Characters are just teleporting around at this point. Meanwhile, certain events aren’t given nearly the time I feel they need. I’ve been waiting for Jorah’s reaction to Jon having Longclaw and perhaps seeing them discuss it but absolutely nothing was said. Even more egregious was that Jorah made no mention of it being Sam Tarly who saved him. This would have been perfect considering Dany burnt Sam’s brother and father alive this very episode and we could see her struggle with her conscious. But at this point, consequences don’t seem to matter. Jaime charged a dragon last episode but here he is completely fine. We don’t even see him and Bronn struggle to escape the river (despite appearing to be in the process of drowning last episode). Instead, they are magically fine a mile down river; completely safe from Dany’s army.

Nobody's mentioned the baby. I feel like that was the big reveal for the episode.
she's probably lying.

Definitely agree. There were too many locations this episode. Davos went from Dragonstone to Kings Landing then back to Dragonstone then to the Wall in the span of an hour. Also, they dropped the ball on Tyrion and Bronn reuniting. Honestly i wish Bronn went on the Eastwatch trip

Does anyone else think that Jon, bringing a wight to cersie, whose army is decimated, who's desperate for soldiers, whose Hand is Qyburn, a Maester with a penchant for necromancy, is going to end poorly for everyone?
I mean, I don't see what he could do with that knowledge.

It's not like they infect other dead bodies iirc, the Night King brings them back to life.

why? so he can die? lol. he'd be the most expendable person in the group.

@ the teleporting comments, like half the complaints in past seasons were about the snail's pace of some episodes/seasons. Sure, there's likely a happy medium between the two extremes, but cutting out travel time - frequently - isn't a new storytelling technique. We're just, ya know, the internet, and GoT has the microscope on it like few other shows in history. If that's the big flaw...imo, meh?

Varys's extreme teleport scene at the end of last season is the only time it truly jarred me. Frankly, I never would have thought about it this episode if y'all hadn't said something. The whole season has been compressed like this to an extent, so it's at least been internally consistent.

/srug

Also, yeah, Bronn has zero plot armor since he's not prominent in the books. I was sure he was going to die by dragon. If you like Bronn, less screen time is ironically probably a blessing at this point.

More expendable than Gendry? And Bronn is a badass who needs to die like a badass.

i think gendry is going to survive this and end up marrying arya.

okay maybe i'm just wishing really hard, but there is some merit to my prediction.

quoting is all fcked up...

@Ares, why would Jorah mention Sam? Did Sam ever mention his relationship with Jon to Jorah? If not, then it's not relevant.

it'll probably come up during their trip to Eastwatch.

I also hope Jon and Beric have a discussion about their ties to the Lord of Light...

Beric: "Hey King of the North, you see this guy with the man bun... he brought me back to life? "

Jon: "orly? I was brought back to life too!"

Beric: Lord of Light?

Jon: "Yeah!"

yes. why bring back Gendry just to kill him in the next episode? From a television writing perspective, it makes no sense. So in relation to their place in plot, Bronn would be the one more likely to die.

speaking of which, someone in this Magnificent 7 is definitely gonna die. Who do you guys think it will be.

my money is on Beric and Man Bun Priest.

jorah knows that samwell served under his father, and he knows that jon snow served under his father.

not much of a stretch of the imagination required for him to assume (or at least suspect) that jon and sam know eachother.

sure, but he doesn't know the extent of their relationship. Jorah doesn't know that Jon and Sam are bffs.

I'm not saying it's totally not worth mentioning, but from Jorah's perspective, Sam is just another guy who took the black.

Well they are already at Eastwatch. But I actually wanted him to bring it up with Dany (not Jon) to explain how he was cured.

So how does Jon's entourage plan to bring back a wright past the wall if the wardings are still keeping them out? If the warding is suddenly not working, thanks to Brann probably, then why not just try to track Benjen and ask if he can travel south for a bit? Or would that just take too much time.

Also as much as I like Littlefinger and Varys doing Littlefinger and Varys things, we only have 8 episodes left of this series so I wish either of them would make a move before the ice-zombies kill everyone.

not sure that would be proof enough. Cercei would likely shrug Benjen off as the same as her pet, Zombie Mountain, couple that with Bejen being a Stark, so it's not like she's gonna listen to anything he says.

On the other hand, she can't deny anything if they show her a skeleton man with blue eyes.

Gendry's hilarious. I don't care what he does; it should be fun.

My money's on the Hound. We're not getting Clegane Bowl, and he's close to having a full character arc, one that a noble sacrifice would complete.

littlefinger's plot is getting ridiculous.

*white walkers kill everyone*

*littlefinger's corpse smirks. his plan worked*

Do wonder if they're going to do a spin-off of book Beric, where he

Spoiler:
finally dies so someone else can live.
