Civil War isn't close to Winter Soldier in quality. It's a solid, fun superhero movie with some excellent scenes, but it doesn't have the same great subversiveness to it that WS had. It's basically "The Yoko Factor" episode from Buffy translated into Marvel.
Iyo. What don't people get about this ? Opinions vary.

Totally disagree with this statement. Granted there are much more characters in CW but it was handled with excellence. No one needs to see the retelling of the same superheros a thousand times.

I actually put Civil War higher than Winter Solider.

So, after watching Civil War multiple times, I'm ready to crown the Captain America trilogy as the best ever; with the Baleman trilogy very close behind.

For me the Nolan movies got worse with each release, and the Cap movies got better (well, Civil War and TWS are neck and neck).

I agree with this. The Nolan trilogy for me is, BB>TDK>>>>>>>>TDKR
Cap trilogy is FA<<WS<CW . Although CW & WS are equally good.
Also, I liked The First Avenger way more than I did TDKR.

Well, TWS and CW could be interchangeable, depending on your mood, I'd say...

But yeah, I'd agree.

Especially the "<<" part. Hell, TFA is nowhere near Russo's movies, let's face it...

It's more like <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<, imo. Sorry.

I'd put CW a little above WS. WS is about a B, while CW is about a B+. Spider-Man stole the show, imo. I'd peg TDK trilogy above the Cap, myself.

Sounds okay. Debatable and I'm not sure if I agree with you (need to rewatch CW 3-4 times more at least), but okay.

Spider-Man was nothing. Completely unnecessary. NOBODY in the audience wanted to see him.

Also, "B"? What is "A" for you, then? Titannic? 😂

TDK trilogy? lol

No, the first one is not good.

First one of which trilogy?

Captain America.

Captain America.

Agreed with you, then.

My favourite scene of that one was post-credits, when he woke up in the present age.

Well I liked it. Like I said before. They did a good job with the huge task of bringing an old fashioned hero with a silly uniform and ideals to the big screen and make him respectable and believable. Without resorting to the usual dark and grim nonsense of making his uniform black and making Cap have an edgy serious persona.

Like I said I enjoyed it. Dont know why people didn't like it or what parts bothered them. I mean it wasnt as good as WS or CW but it was better than TDKR by a lot in my book.

I need to rewatch TFA, like I said before.

I just wanted Red Skull to be really badass, the way he was written by numerous Marvel writers... instead, I got Hugo Weaving trying to be intimidating.

I thought Red Skull was fine. Maybe Weaving wasnt giving it his all. He has said he wasnt a fan of being in the film and didnt want to come back, so he might have phoned it in. Meh.

Maybe he wasn't. I know that he's a great actor. Just didn't work for me.

MCU can always use RS clone (like in Axis) or something.

For me, from the point Cap meets Erskine to the point he gets suited up with his team, the movie is VERY strong. The rest of the movie is kind of... Meh.

I really like the after-credits scene though.

Watchmen, TDK, Blade, GOTG, SM 2, etc...

TDK, fine.

Blade hasn't exactly aged well. And c'mon, vamps are for carvers.

GotG... a different kind of a movie... impossible to compare the two, for me. Some would rate it 5/10 and CW 10/10, others the other way round...

SM2 had its flaws, wasn't perfect. But yeah, loved it.

Watchmen, I still need to see 😮

I loved Sin City 2, btw. Kill me if you want 😂

😍 😍 😍

Sounds like we meet at our favourite hotel again.

Well yah, there is no denying that The First Avenger had one of the best after credit scenes of all time. Up there with Iron Man 1 and Avengers' Thanos reveal.
