The Avengers is probably the fan favorite for Marvel and when AMC did their tournament, TDK DESTROYED it in votes. Wasn't close, TBH and Campea thought Avengers would win. It was his favorite Marvel flick at the time. Just shows you that the GA will pretty much always choose TDK, mainly because of the Joker/Heath.

well if you go by that logic then its a blowout for the TDK trilogy IMO; Bats movies win out every one of those matchups
For me Civil War beats all the rest.
But I still put both BB and TDK slightly above WS.
Not sure which I prefer between Cap1 and TDKR. Probably Cap1 tbh, because it was a "true to the comics" origin story, whereas TDKR was a bit of a mess of an ending IMO.

Either way it makes him out to be an idiot.
He's just trying to stop the whole Marvel vs DC battle which is getting out of control with death threats and all sorts of madness.
His point is Marvel fans shouldn't root against DC movies (or vice versa), because if they're both good it will help the superhero movie genre to last longer.
I mean I am surprised Civil War didn't crack $200mill, or even Age of Ultron's OW. It should have IMO, as it was just as big an event movie, but a much better movie. Miles better.
I personally think they did not market Spider-Man enough.

the fact that this was a cap movie and not an avengers one hurt the BO on name value alone... if you can call 179 mil "hurt" lol
Originally posted by relentless1You really are an idiot. Again, The Dark Knight DIDN'T Win an academy award. HEATH LEDGER did, and it ONLY happened because it was a pity Oscar. They felt bad that he died and there was so much hype it was the only thing to do. Ledger was great, no doubt about it. Was he Oscar worthy? Not really. He played the joker; and honestly some of his dialogue was beyond ridiculous.
thats your opinion man, the academy and all the people who gave reviews for those films; critics and fans alike seem to disagree with you though

The Dark Knight isn't even the best movie in it's own trilogy. Also, Avengers DESTROYED TDK at the box office. Not sure why that matters, as this is about The Cap Trilogy vs TDK trilogy.

So CPT thinks Critics might not have voted who they actually thought was best?
No way! It's well known critics are superhuman judges on the art of film, beyond any kind of bias or peer pressure.
Also TDK was in 2d only, so if you check the difference in domestic gross, it probably didn't sell less tickets than Avengers. In fact TDK might have sold more tickets.
And the International market has grown massively since the days of TDK, so any comparisons on that front are not very fair.
That said, he's right in that it's got nothing to do with CA Trilogy vs TDK Trilogy.

Look at the DC fanboy upset over someone preferring marvel. Figures. Face it the Nolan trilogy has horrific fight choreography and these are action super hero films. That matters. The joker is so overrated it's not even funny.
Wait.. I'm the DC fanboy?
I suppose pointing out facts about how many tickets TDK must have sold domestically in comparison to Avengers, and noting how CPT seems to decide himself when critics vote honestly and when they vote according to peer pressure, would all seem like DC fanboyism to Backsdown112 and Mr. CPT "I decide whose opinion counts."
But it is nice Quanchi found himself a like minded best friend.

are you really going to try and split hairs here? heath ledger won an oscar FOR his performance in TDK; the character is a reflection of the film itself dummy... and call it pity all you want, I don't see anybody else winning an acting oscar for a superhero film...hell they changed the number of entries for all categories directly because a lot of people were pissed that TDK wasn't nominated for best pic; an actual groundswell of NORMAL people and movie critics that couldn't care less about superhero movies were pissed that TDK wasn't nominated for best pic....
Originally posted by relentless1There are different awards for different categories. The Dark Knight was a great film. I'm not disputing that. However, IT did NOT win best picture. Ledger won a pity Oscar for his role as Joker. I won't ever try to say that a Marvel movie won an Oscar for best picture if one of their actors wins an Academy award. That being said, Ledger was the first and probably the last to win an Oscar for super hero films. They just aren't respected enough. Ledger had the perfect storm. Hype, great performance, and death = Oscar. As I said he was the best part of the film (by far) but overall the film is overhyped. It's a great film but inferior to Batman Begins in almost every way.

I pointed out this time and time again . TDK did sell more tickets. Avengers comes close as does Spider-Man 2.

Heath was the stronger contender, so saying it's s pity award is stupid .
