Lois has been written well in the past; I don't deny that. I've liked her in those cases. Just sometimes when she isn't, and she gets a pass. Kind of like Jean Grey, in that she can do whatever she likes, but she's a favourite, and people won't call her on her shit. I despise Jean, but that's a whole other conversation.

I don't see any reason they'd have to make Diana any kind of damsel in distress. If they can write Superman and Batman in a comic without making Batman completely useless, they can do it with Diana.

I like Harley's costume colour scheme, I just hate the costume itself. I don't find it sexy, personally.

Jean/Lois are apples and oranges. I can see the Jean hate. Just not so much Lois. I mean Jean is one of those characters that should stay dead. Their death makes an impact. Like Uncle Ben and Bucky before he became a heartthrob. When the Phoenix Story was written Jean WAS the Phoenix and took her own life when she realized she could not control her power. That was cool. Could of left it there, but they didn't. Later it is revealed it wasn't Jean at all. It was cosmic being who took on Jean's form and fooled itself (even though it is a near omnipotent being) into thinking it was Real-Jean. Then this Phoenix-Fake-Jean sensed there was a Clone-Jean (Madelyn Pryor) the moment Phoenix-Fake-Jean took its life and tried to possess Clone-Jean but realized it wasn't Jean and left. Then Clone-Jean (with no memories of being visited by Phoenix-Fake-Jean) reveals itself to Cyclops, and even though it looks EXACTLY like Real-Jean he marries it and has a kid. Then this Clone-Jean makes a deal with a demon (I wish I was making this up) and tries to kill the Real-Jean who had been sitting in the bottom of the ocean in a cocoon. This Clone-Jean somehow has the total memories of the Phoenix-Fake-Jean and gives them to the Real-Jean before it dies so now Real-Jean can remember all the stuff she missed when she was at the bottom of the ocean and Phoenix-Fake-Jean was running around thinking it was Real-Jean but was in fact Phoenix-Fake-Jean. Then after Real-Jean dies again (but not really cus it is only Clone-Jean and Phoenix-Fake-Jean that have died). Real-Jean and not an Alternate-Jean (which would actually make sense) comes from the past, the REAL past and is now considered the Real-Young-Jean ( or Real Jean Junior.) Real-Present-Jean is still dead and has not been truly resurrected once, unless you count the White-Hot-Room which may or not be in another dimension or reality and may contain a Resurrected Jean (unless it is Phoenix Force creating another Phoenix-Fake Jean). Or if Hope is Jean-Reborn or if Xavier tricked everyone into believing Jean was real to help bring them together and give Scott something to latch onto but Charles got carried away and had to go to sinister to create a Jean and all this mess got started.

Don't forget the Iceman thing.

To be fair, cloneJean/Maddie did mess with his head quite a bit. And then there was the grief etc. But yeah, I'm not a fan of Jean at all, and I hope they never revisit her and Cyclops without some serious changes.

Lois just... I just think Superman can do better. Hell, I think I could do better than someone like Lois, and that's saying something.

I was a fan of Teri Hatcher though. She was great.

I feel u. Jean is one of those characters I hate..but at least she's dead so there's that lol.

The character of Lady Death was originally conceived as a hallucination by the character of Evil Ernie, an evil imaginary girlfriend whom, in addition to providing much-needed eye-candy to the comic, gave him his incentive to kill. In time, she detached herself and began her own story, her personality going from psycho-sexy villain to that of anti-hero and developing a great deal more depth. She went on to become Chaos! comic’s most profitable and recognizable figure (literally and figuratively, as it were).

Lady Death has had a number of variations to her origin story, necessitated by her property changing publishers and the evolution of the character. In each of those incarnations, she was an innocent named Hope, left in the care of a monstrous tyrant of a father who summoned demons to do his bidding. In one version, she becomes entangled in a war in Hell between he and Lucifer, eventually corrupted by her surroundings and leading an uprising against the Lord of Hell herself. In another she hunts her father the sorcerer through the Blacklands and The Labyrinth (which replace Hell in this version) after learning spellcraft from a sorceress named Satasha and the ways of battle from her mentor Wargoth.

Lady Death has displayed various powers throughout her adventures and in her various incarnations. The most common theme revolves around her magical ability and what is commonly termed as her “energy arcane” - with that power, she has shown the ability to project blasts of energy, to erect wards and shields, telekinesis, transmutation, teleportation, flight, weather control, varying degrees of necromancy as well as dimensional and spiritual manipulation. Her physical attributes have been rated as roughly five times that of a normal human and she has proven herself a master swordswoman. She is also in possession of a number of magical artifacts, including_‘Darkness’, her original sword forged by Cremator who later forged_‘Apocalypse’ for her as well. When she was chosen to be the avatar of the Reaper, she received the Death Scythe, a powerful weapon in its own right.

Her first appearance was in Evil Ernie #1 (December 1991) published by Eternity Comics; she has had a full-length animated movie released as well. This is Lady Death’s second time being featured on this blog - she made her first appearance on December 15th, 2015.

Vampirella’s origin can be separated into two specific blocks, that of her original character, and then that of her relaunch in the 1990′s, though the relaunch did incorporate aspects of the original. The original owes its inspiration to the campy, science-fiction style of the 1960′s such as both the comic and film versions of Barbarella. The character also reflected some aspects of the women’s liberation movement with a female hero, while also incorporating the sexual liberation of the period through the character’s raw sexuality.

Her first origin while under the Warren imprint, was that she was an alien from the planet Drakulon whose race was known as the Vampiri. Drakulon revolved around two suns; at one point one of these stars exploded, causing a massive loss of life among the Vampiri, leaving a small number of survivors. In time the world was visited by astronauts from Earth, whom had crash landed on the planet. Vampirella was sent to investigate, but was attacked by the intrepid Earthlings. In the process of defending herself she discovered that they had blood inside of their bodies and was overcome by her unnatural cravings. After defeating them she took their spaceship back to Earth, where she discovered that her race bore a resemblance to its mythical vampires. With the stigma attached to those legends she chose to fight the stereotype by acting in a good and at times even heroic manner.

Following the transfer of the character from Warren to Harris Vampirella was partially re-imagined. The character was purchased as she fit in with the popular ‘bad girl’ trend of independent comics at the time and due to the popularity of occult-themed stories and characters as well. Her origin was altered so that her background as an alien was revealed to be a memory implant, and instead it was revealed that she was actually part of an ancient battle fought since Biblical times.

Her original stories tended to focus on her personal adventures but also on the integration of an alien into what was for her an alien society. In order to do so she befriended a group of vampire hunters, specifically Adam van Helsing and his blind, psychic father, Conrad van Helsing. She also befriended an old magician named Mordecai Pendragon who eventually took in Vampirella as his assistant. Most of her early adventures involved assisting the van Helsings, in particular against the followers of Chaos, an occult organization skilled in the dark arts of magic. As a vampiric creature one of the recurring themes was her uncontrollable bloodlust, and her continuous efforts to curtail it. Eventually a serum was found which made her cravings effectively disappear, the downside being that if she wasn’t inoculated with the serum regularly she became a danger to all around her, including her friends.

Vampirella would later learn that her origins on Drakulon were only partially true. She discovered that she was in fact the daughter of Lilith, the first wife of the biblical Adam and the first woman, according the Christian bible. Lilith was cast out of the Garden of Eden and subsequently mated with a demon which in turn gave rise to the beings that would become known as vampires with Drakulon actually being a realm in Hell. Lilith sought to atone for her role in the creation of such evil and in her efforts to gain redemption from God she gave birth to Vampirella who was then sent to Earth to destroy vampires.

Vampirella_possesses supernatural strength, stamina, reflexes, and agility far beyond that of humans. Her powers greatly resemble those of a traditional vampire. She has a heightened healing factor, though she needs to maintain a certain amount of blood in her system or this healing factor slows down drastically. This healing factor also serves to make her effectively immortal. She also possesses some of the weaknesses of traditional vampires - _a stake through her heart would prove deadly - but not others, as she can tolerate both sunlight and silver. She had the typical natural weapons associated with vampires (fangs and claws) and can mesmerize her opponents if they are in close proximity and she is looking directly into their eyes. She can summon swarms of bats under her mental control, as well as generate shadows and transform herself into an intangible shadow-like figure that can fire “shadowbolts” at enemies. She also possesses some minor shape-shifting abilities.

Vampirella’s first appearance was in Vampirella #1 (September, 1969).

I knew there was a reason I liked you.

I don't know why i chose this scene bc the art is terrible. Maybe it's all the red. *shrugs* Anyway, I like the scene because of the dialogue. Yes I know BB says nothing. But Medusa really got her point across about how all these superhero husbands just do shit without consulting like anyone. Least of all their wives. Their SHOULD be consequences even though we know that he'd stomp her if he chose to. Marvel is great and ruining relationships..this is one I had hoped to see more of. Or at least an heir to the throne. Meh. Maybe Johnny can produce some scion of note.

Medusalith Amaquelin, a.k.a. Medusa, Queen of the Inhumans, and her husband Black Bolt._

Medusa would later go on to have an affair with her sister Crystal’s former lover, Johnny Storm (a.k.a. the Human Torch)…_

We will produce a line the likes of which the world has never seen beloved.

Here's another scene that I love

Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. the Savage She-Hulk._

One of my favorite aspects of the She-Hulk was her role in the legal profession, much as it is with Matt Murdock, the Daredevil. Not only is she a Hulk but she's a freaking lawyer. Like how goddamn cool is that. It humanizes her. Because at the root she's just a normal person (albeit with gamma irradiated blood) and that's what makes you root for her or any hero for that matter. That little bit of you that you see in them.
