If the Sentinel goes into Fire Form (which it can do at will; a Sentinel did this long after Iceman was dead and used this power to burn right through a thick metal wall) and then engages team in melee, what is the team going to do?

Remember, they fight in character and love to fight up close and as you saw in the clip, the Sentinels are fast and skilled as well...

What are they going to do other than run?

Do you think they'd get up close and personal and touch the fire form ?

Attack with the metallic arm and shield.

The buffoonery he's trying to pull here is mind blowing. These two get absolutely curb stomped here, and frankly, the fight would last moments.
Based on what ? How often did one sentinel destroy multiple mutants ? Did you watch the film ?

You think coming within arms reach of a being hot enough to burn straight through thick metal walls is a good idea for this team?

That's a death wish as far as I can see...

Yes, since they have athe skill to parry and block/evade gunfire. One sentinel isn't that impressive IMO. Iron Man is I pressve but not just one sentinel it's the whole, lot of them that makes them a threat to mutants.

What does blocking/parrying/dodging gunfire have to do with standing within arms reach of a being hot enough to burn through thick solid iron?

The team will burn just by getting too close to this thing...

It has to focus the energy on the door to burn through it. It's slower than gunfire and easier to block than gunfire. 3 of them needed to shoot Bishop multiple seconds to burn him with a concentrated attack. We see hundreds at the end versus less than 20 mutants.

You have some misconceptions here...

They didnt burn Bishop; they overloaded Bishop with energy causing him to explode...get the scene right.

Also to burn through the door, all it had to do was burrow through it, which it could do due to the intense heat its body generated...

Standing too close to a heat source that hot would be fatal to this team; melee will get them killed...

At the begining of the movie, 3 Sentinels killed 5 mutants and made the other 2 flee...

Looked like they burned him to me. What other characters did they burn without hitting with the fire ? Get the scene right. You love these shitty sentinels. They needed hundreds. Pathetic things to outnumber mutants that badly to get the drop on them.

Outnumber? Mutants are in the millions. They likely outnumbered the sentinels 1000:1 or more.

👆

They dont need superior numbers to kill their enemies; they can win even when out numbered...

How do you know the mutants faced them off in the millions ? We go by what we see in the film not baseless speculation with silly numbers. 🙂

The mutants allowed this for the prices to fight another day. They had to make their last stand and we see hundreds of sentinels. 🙂

We see the remaining mutants overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

It's not like they are all perfectly coordinated and equally dangerous. 😬

The Last Stand showed tons of mutants during the fight sequence at near the end, and that was just the mutants in the general area of San Francisco...

The Sentinels (as per the story) had almost eliminated the worlds mutant population...

Arachnid's speculation is likely accurate based on what the movies have shown us...

Why are you contesting his opinion, LordofMurder? It's his OPINION! 🙄

Your claim was that the Sentinels needed superior numbers to defeat the mutants...

3 Sentinels overwhelming 7 mutants renders your argument invalid...

Pointing out flaws in ones argument is pertfectly acceptable...

So are you now my personal troll?

The mutants were about surviving so there were different stakes. I referred to the last stand with everything on the line. The sentinels failed to stop the mutants at the beginning. I thought the scene was clear.
