9 years isn't "a few". We're not aware of how long he spent training, so you're touting it as a "few" years (which sounds like under 5) on the basis of, well, nothing of substance. You're banking it all on your own speculation and the fact that "he isn't old". Where is Kas'im's age ever implied in the novel to begin with?

Kas'im could easily be 30 or 40, and is stated to have been trained since childhood. 😬
