Islam and the Koran view killing gays as a mercy killing, not a hate crime. They view killing gays as something good that needs to happen, they view it as an act of compassion. So this "hate crime" or homophobia claim thing is out of the window.

Targeting an individual for an inherent non-harmful trait and killing them to euthanize them of that trait is a hate crime. Also, his father said all gays will go to Hell, so clearly there is hatred.

They view themselves as the purest form of Islam. And anyone else who disagree's should die. The point is though, people are joining this ideology by the droves regardless if its stone age thinking and or wrong.

As you stated, that's how they view themselves. Just as the WBC view themselves as the purest Christians. They're just opportunists and extremists exploiting an ideology. The ideology itself can't be blamed.
