It just occurred to me that after Episode VIII one won't be able to simply refer to Return of the Jedi as "Jedi" the same as referring to TESB as "Empire" without confusion.

Episode 9 will be short-named as "Last". There, it's done.

Don't forget we don't know if Jedi is considered singular or plural... 😉

OH I am sure it will all be fully explained in one of the dozens of upcoming movies.

I fear as much.

I can't wait for Star Wars: EXPOSITION Pt 1

This was a great revelation; I'm glad you're the one to point that out 👆

Or maybe this movie ends up as a passing of the torch type. Makes me wonder if Luke Skywalker will die but pass his knowledge of being a Jedi to Rey. This would make Rey the last Jedi if it happens that way.

Yes, I hope they will explain it all to us... and then show us to support the explanation.

I'm fairly certain Kylo's abilities will be much stronger and way better in Last Jedi

I'd love to see Kylo throw another temper tantrum then seconds later, the Death Star blows up. 😛

As I proclaimed Kylo will surpass every Ot lovers greatest treasure, Vader. These villains are badder as I said from the beginning. Wait and see. I'll be right once again.

They should. But can they?

Kylo's crux will likely be that he'll forever be trying to be as great as his vision of Vader and never feeling that he's living up to ole grandpapa, regardless of what he achieves. Least they hinted at that in ep7

I predict they will. I continue to see the naysayers. Kylo has a permanent chip on his shoulder which will continue to motivate him. That's what great men have is never ending motivation. It's never enough. Vader lovers beware.

I extend the challenge to any yellow bellied supporter of the cripple. One on one judged debate upon the completion of the trilogy. I doubt anyone will accept as per the norm.

Could be, but I could see Rey rejecting Skywalker and doing her own thing. That would certainly make Luke the last Jedi, and would end the line lf Jedi forever if he dies..

So, does this "Last Jedi" thing mean Kanan and Ezra definately don't live past the original trilogy?

Or maybe they both quit being Jedi, and become neutrals like the rock guy? Can you quit the Jedi? (Without turning to the dark side or anything.. Just up and quitting the order.) Or is it like the Italian Mafia, where you're in it for life?

The thing about the title is that it's correct, Luke is currently the last Jedi, it could just be referring to him. Doesn't mean there can't be another Jedi created at a later date and that Luke has to die. Though imo, Luke's dying before this new trilogy is over.

I think Luke survive the trilogy.

Do wonder if the death of Fisher and Leia being written off (unless their going to CGI her in ep9) will have any affect on Luke's fate.

Another reason why I consider Luke surviving a possibility.

Snoke is coming for you, Luke. You can't run forever.

Looking forward to your lowballing of Luke.
