Well Rian Johnson confirmed "The Last Jedi" is singular. As in just Luke. Not Luke and Rey. So I doubt Luke himself is converting.

So perhaps he's only training Rey to use the Light side of the Force, but not training her to be a Jedi.

What if Luke falls/has fallen and Rey becomes the last Jedi?

I bet this is just Disney wanting to add their own Brand to the Mythos. Rey will create her OWN Order.

That's what i was referring to when i said Jedi Bendu.

Don't you guys want something fresh in SW for a change? Always referring to what is there already, as if you want the old sources confirmed and repeated. I want something in a new direction.

Never gonna happen. SW is to limited.

Rey creating her own order is a dumb idea.

Creating a Gray Jedi Order is even worse.

Why?

Jedi vs Sith fighting has been going on for years and nothing is being resolved with those two groups.

Having a bunch of people trying to walk a fine line between good and casually wiping out planets with giant space lasers would ultimately lead to a net negative. Or it would in a more honest series.

From what i'm reading Ahsoka is already one of them.

Ahsoka isn't a "grey Jedi". She just is no longer a Jedi, though still a light sider.

Now the Bendu is a grey force user. And he is an absolute piece of shit.

And while that is canon it is not particularly relevant.

Falling to the Dark Side is very very easy. Doesn't matter if you're a young dumbass like Anakin or a veteran user of the Force like Dooku. And once you fall you're basically doomed to live a miserable life. How would trying to walk a life on the razor thin edge between the two not end terribly?

More importantly why would you want to? The Jedi Order kinda sucks sure but overall TPM proves that the really do make the difference between a society being conquered and changing for the better. It is ultimately a good Order that needs a little bit of freshening up to not be so outwardly cold. Luke doesn't save the day in RotJ by following the orders of his masters but by making his own path that is still 100% Jedi.

The Sith are categorically evil to the Nth degree with a penchant for mass genocide and asking you to kill father figures. Messing with the Dark Side leaves everyone that bothers with it far far worse off than they otherwise would be. Anakin tried it and for his troubles was left without limbs, a lot of skin, no friends, and lung trouble. And HE was the lucky one. The Dark Side offers no obvious benefits to either the user or the galaxy as a whole.

Actually it's a pathway to abilities some would consider... unnatural.

😆

The dark side offers no benefits? What? Didn't you hear about that dubious "keep the ones you care about from dying" power? Totally exists.

I wonder if Ezra would be considered a grey Jedi? I don't think we can call him a Jedi, heck I'm not sure we can call Kanan a Jedi cause like Ahsoka his training was cut short.

Well, what defines a Jedi in a post-Jedi Council era? Isn't that just semantics?

I think this new PodCast should answer all questions about the upcoming greatest movie of all time...

Maybe Luke is the last "real" Jedi? Technically Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka could still be alive during the Last Jedi time frame but I doubt it.

I like Jenny's theory.
