They should take it out back and shoot it at this point, tbh.

They would have if AM were to flop. That would reinforce people's theory that the future of DCEU films will do poorly, since WB got off to a rocky start. However, they can still salvage their universe by making quality films and it seems they can with Wonder woman and now Aquaman. All they need to do is stop meddling with the properties and they'll do fine.

AM Is doing quite well in many markets. WOM seems pretty positive, too.

I don't have a problem with them making movies based on DC properties. I have a problem with them doing a bad job of adapting the characters.

I'm still hoping Shazam is as good as it looks.

They can. That doesnt mean they should.

Making quality films now will salvage the universe.

Rebooting and making quality films however would have been something more special and with a much stronger innate brand name.

But whatever. Theyll do what they wana do.

Suicide Squad is 27
Justice League is 40
Wonder Woman is 93

If AQ is at 70 now and it's not opened up in the US, it'll likely end up being around the mid 50's at best in terms of tomatoes.

Most of the big critics, Variety, HR ,IGN, etc have already given their reviews.

Isn't the RT meter based on both critic and plebeian movie goer?

There is a critic and audience score.

Aquaman's actual rating is 6.2/10 (based on 104 reviews so far).

Tomatometer is a different thing:

Audience score not available yet.

I've seen Joblo's.com review a 9.10, But they'll most likely do two reviews for two different people's takes on the film itself.

They have a few elements that make it work. If they reboot, they will lose Gal who is universally praised. Its the same with Mamoa now. There are a lot of fans for both. Snyders vision is to blame for a lot of the problems, and if they steer from that, they should do fine. Patty turned out a good film and now it looks like the same for Wan. Just get good directors and a solid plan.

My guess is 48%

This movie is garbage

Don't know how it will be overall but the one liner attempts at humor in the trailers I've seen were cringe worthy bad.

Oh, and RT typically posts up more positive reviews than negative at first. So starting in the 70's may not be a good sign. With only about 100 reviews counted so far there is a real good chance it will be well below 60 when all is sid and done.

Gals trilogy could have be done separately. But both are very replaceable tbh.

Yes good directors and good story tellers makes this salvageable like you said.

But it will always have that bit of sourness behind it. And the Justice League itself is basically finished for this Universe.

look at how Thor was successfully filmed after Dark World. Never say never.

The GA have short term memories, anyway. Look at what AM is doing so far around the world, and in many markets. Most don't care, they just want to see good films. If WB goes on a streak (SHAZAM, WW 84, Joker, and BOP), then rebooting won't matter.
