look at how Thor was successfully filmed after Dark World. Never say never.

Yeah. The first two Thor films weren't all that. Kinda average, but Ragnarok far exceeded expectations.

I’m guessing it’ll do about 750 total. It’ll have a big weekend here and fizzle out. All I’ve been hearing so far is that it’s a visually stunning movie with a storyline that’s somewhat weak and a mess. It’ll end up like an Italian supermodel, nice to look at and an entertaining romp initially, but then you toss it aside because you don’t feel like dealing with all the shortcomings.

Could be, but at this point 750 is on the lower end. It's having excellent legs in China, and it should do 275 there alone, on top of 300 plus domestic. Many are seeing 850-900 World wide. We'll see what happens. It's doing strong in most Asian and Latin territories. WOM is strong.

Nah. Only the Dark World was meh and put Thors name down for a few years. Didnt help that Ragnarok took time to come after TDW.

It just goes to show DC still has these Huge names they can ride of. Theres no way this will be as good as Ragnarok, which had Thor and Hulk, but it will likely make more money.

Well, that's where we will always disagree. I didn't care for the Thor movies, other than Ragnarok. We go through this time and time again. lol Both were rather forgettable.

In Your Opinion.

Not in the opinion of the cinema goers. The first one lead to the excitement for the Avengers.

Thor just got a bad streak for a while between TDW and AOU.

Now audiences go crazy for him again when he enters in IW.

It's not always about how big a name is. AM isn't even that big vs characters like Cap, Batman, or Superman. It's about the vision (Wan) and solid WOM. It's the highest rated super-hero movie in China, FFS.

I just said MY opinion. I hardly hear people talk about the first Thor movie. Most of the people who do talk about it, find it kinda average at best.

Only problem with Ragnarok was when it came to the more serious moments, It treated them like a joke.

Just saw it. Good popcorn flick.

True but a big name certainly contributes.

I doubt this is better than Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy.

This "The first two Thor movies sucked" meme has gotten out of hand. Look, maybe they're not the BEST Marvel has put out, but on their own they are perfectly solid films.

The first Thor has a fish out of water/Crocodile Dundee like vibe to it which is fun.. It successfully sets up Asgard and its relationship to the rest of the universe. Chris Hemsworth is charming as f.uck(Which inadvertently is also a weakness, because it's hard to root for Odin banishing him to Earth), and Hiddleston as Loki has a Shakerspearean like tragic backstory to his character.

The second movie has its moments. Loki is hilarious, and I happenn to like the Jane/Darcy/Selvig scenes. It's got one of the weakest villains ever, but the stuff in the Dark Elf realm was quite evocative and shot in a pretty way.

Aside from Malekith, the Thor franchise actually has the best marvel movie villains. Loki is on par with Heath Ledgers Joker.

Attacking the (early) Thor movies is just an easy way to attack Marvel, but fact is they were very much liked by the general audiences. And rumour has it Aquaman is very much inspired by them as well.

Thor 1 is underrated and Thor 2 had it's moments.

No Thor 2 was just terrible. Lets be honest

Not if you ask the Chinese audience. Watch it first, then tell me which is better. I didn't think strange was all that. I gave it a B -. Umberto for example said Momoaman was tied for his favorite comic book film this year. It's all about tastes, man.

International totals by market for Aquaman through Friday include:

China - $147.4M
Brazil - $3.4M
Indonesia - $3.1M
Mexico - $3.0M
U.K. - $3.0M
Russia - $2.7M
Taiwan - $2.2M#Aquaman #BoxOffice

Based on these numbers, there is a chance Aquaman grosses more than MoS’s OS gross before OD in the US. Should be at almost 300M by Sunday and with a lot of openings on Tuesday/Wednesday of next week 377M is just about the right goal by Friday

Tkitna's numbers are way too low at this point. Aquaman has to flop in order to only hit 750 WW.

Thor 2 wasn't marvels worst film. That goes to iron man 2, imo. Iron man 3 was pretty bad, too.

Wan said AM was inspired by the LOTR trilogy, not Thor. Supposedly, Aquaman has this epic, fantasy feel to it.

I'm still going 900 tops.
