Wasn't better than Wonder Woman, but it also wasn't shit like BvS. Overall agreed with PR's assessment. I found it better but similar to Avatar, it had amazing visuals, but the story and most characters are meh.
Mamoa was a decent Aquaman overall, I was expecting him to be shit and he pulled it well enough to make it his own. Kudos to him, large role in a large film.
Black Manta looked ridiculous though, I understand they were trying to follow the comic, but it just didn't play well in live action with the helmet; looked like something out of Power Rangers.

Ocean Master was better but still in the same category as Malekeith, Ronin, Zod , ... Evil leaders ,wanting to rule/get revenge for their people. Still ok , but come off as kind of bland and almost 1 dimensional in parts.
They were actually both decent villains tbh.

Honestly I think the Dceu Has done a decent job with all the solo films. Its the Team movies they messed up on Imo. And a lot of that was down to rushing into them.

This movie reallly has blurred the line between critiques and party poopers.
Also this is the first time I've read of folk not liking Black Manta's design...figured people would get a kick out of how over the top it was. Furthermore seeing Patrick Wilson ham it up on sharks with lasers make itba default pass IMO.
His regular scuba suit was pretty cool. But his super suit looked redic on screen. Again, appreciate that they tried to stick close to the source material, but it didn't look right in live-action.
