I agree with Tevesh, I think it showed that humans aren't machines.
But I do reckon it went on for a bit too long and it kinda didn't fit in with the whole feel of the movie.

OK OK I retract any earlier comments I may have had about the scene. I was led to believe it was full frontal nudity everyone was talking about here. If instead it only had their faces then maybe but I do not know.

yeah but, we are smart arent we? it doesnt take a sex scene to prove that two people are in love now does it? i mean this is something we should have figured out ourselves...i mean if we can figure out all these great and intelligent stuff about the matrix world, then they don't have to go through all that lenght to prove a point....it's really downgrading.

i thought the people grinding on each other showed that we still are human and have animal desires. the most basic instinct is to... get it on!
