Women Born into Islam Nation vs Judao Christian Nation

Where would women have more chances for success in the modern age?

Women Born into Islam Nation vs Judao Christian Nation

Are women more likely to succeed being born in a Muslim nation vs a Judao Christian nation?

Obviously the Christian nation. In a lot of countries with a majority Muslim population women are barely seen as people.

In some of these countries if a woman gets raped she either needs to marry her rapist or go to prison lol.

Right now Islam is the religion most incompatible with western society.

So why is there a vote in the first category?

Welcome back, Time.

nothing more to add

So people are actually voting and saying women have a higher chance of success in Islamic nations.😂

I voted Islam. Because my definition of a woman's success involves staying at home where she belongs and not driving.

j/k it actually involves cutting off their clitoris.

So that is one vote accounted for. Who are the other 2 people for voted for Islam?

I think the main determining factor is whether it's a 1st world nation versus a 3rd world nation rather than whether the nation is primarily Christian or Islamic. An Islamic woman in Qatar, Indonesia, or Pakistan is likely going to have better prospects than a Christian woman in Uganda or Zimbabwe. Not all Islamic Countries practice Sharia Law and oppress women. For example, Indonesia had a female president (Megawati Sukarnoputri) a little over a decade ago and women there are allowed to receive an education, work, drive, etc. Pakistan had a female Prime Minister as far back as the 80s. The more oppressive regimes like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and the like are terrible though. If we're talking only 1st World Nations like the US or France and comparing them to Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan then of course the contrast is apparent but when you go further down the line those theocracies aren't the only examples of Islamic States.

Also, I didn't vote. It's a loaded question.

But Indonesia is the country where they stick their fingers in a womans vagina to make sure she is a virgin before she is allowed to join the army.

So isn't it horrifying this is one of the more moderate Muslim countries? That right there should tell us all a lot about Islam.

I think that's a disgusting custom, but being objective, that's not a universally practiced custom of Islam, and customs like genital mutilation and male/female circumcision could, and in many cases are, also seen as barbaric, and also aren't universally practiced customs of Christians (at least not female circumcision. Most Judeo-Christian men are circumcised).

I'm saying Indonesia is one of the places commonly brought up in a discussion about a more moderate Muslim country.

In other words, the Muslim definition of "moderate" is all kinds of f*cked up.

Yeah, I don't understand why they need to check whether a woman is a virgin in order for her to engage in military service, but beyond that sick custom women are afforded the rights to pursue an education and occupation like a man. I don't understand the obsession with virginity in Islamic culture.

I'd be very surprised if that was the case outside of America. Not saying you're wrong, just that I would still be surprised if that was the case.

Even accounting for it being a Jewish thing, etc.

Oh if you don't understand why you will LOVE their totally sane logic.

You see men in the army are all rapey and so they felt only letting virgins in..would lessen some of that.

It doesn't make any actual sense.

LMAO

People are actually saying women have just as much chances for success in Islam based Theocracys?

Personally, I'm saying that not all Islamic nations are theocracies, and not all Christian nations are like the US (Uganda, for example). It's not as clear cut as the question suggests. My sister was in the Air Force and is going to college to become a nurse. She's a Christian. If we'd grown up in Uganda (also a Christian Nation) she likely would not have been afforded the life she has been able to lead here in the US and would have had her clitoris severed as a child. She'd also face a myriad of backwards customs regarding birth control and STDs which are fostered by the perverted interpretation of Christianity and Catholicism in Africa. If she grew up in Afghanistan and we were raised Muslims instead of Jehovah's Witnesses she wouldn't have had the opportunity (or choice) to gain an education or serve in the military at all. In Indonesia or Pakistan (or several other "Islamic" Nations) my sister could get an education and pursue a career, becoming a politician, teacher, scientist, or member of the armed forces. However, if she tried to join the military in Indonesia they'd force her to have her vagina examined to prove she was a virgin out of some perverted and disgusting train of thought regarding men being less likely to rape women if they were pure (and also the custom that women who are raped having to marry the person who assaulted them, which seems very counterproductive).

Basically, not so cut and dry and is a case by case scenario. Not all Christian or Islamic nations operate in the same manner and the customs aren't static.

Which African Countries are democratic societies based in western judao christian societies that are cutting women privates off? As with most arguments here, when no one has one, they go to Africa.

Undoubtably one can always find an answer to their problems by finding it there because it has so many.

While I applaud you for looking for a problem in BFA, that is really not the scope of the topic.

Which is comparing the middle east islaic theocracies to western culture judeo christian democracies.

The poll is really great, I am glad I did it, I hope the numbers go towards Islamic Theocracy. This will really highlight the hypocrisy of the left towards women.
