But a true non-aggressive would have severed Ponda's gun instead of his arm, or used his extensive mastery of the Force to disarm Ponda or used the Jedi Mind-Trick to deflate the situation before it escalated to violence; only using violence as the last resort. Instead Obi went for the dismemberment.
