And you’re not. Deal with reality.

Gonna see this tomorrow.

Oh yeah, they also did Xavier dirty, making him suddenly unlikable. Then again, James McAvoy had the "**** it, my contract is almost over" phoning kind of performance at that point, but man. I just felt nothing with him here like I did in any of the previous films.

I think James Marsden had the looks. Hes also a top actor. The problem was they literally gave him nothing to do after X1. And even X1 under-utilised him!

Pretty much yeah, Fox just hates Cyclops

Cyclops to Magneto: Touch her and I'll ****ing kill you!

*misses every shot during the fighting*

He kinda got cooler toward the end at least but wow that moment. Quicksilver got snubbed pretty much completely early on though. In the initial Jean chaos they made you think he was about to do something cool for a whole scene and steal the show so to speak like in the last two movies, but nope, he just gets injured and that's it.

Enjoyed this otherwise for what it was, but man talk about going out on a whimper.

They needed a replacement for the Hellfire Club.

I thought they were kind of creepy/fun villains. And dont think there was much need for an in depth back story for them.

The continuity errors I still couldn't shake off either when I saw this, even if it was expected.

I didnt notice any major ones.

Just the same old silly stuff like still not aging any of the actors up.

I know people are saying Jean already had the PF at the end of Apocalypse, but clearly she didnt. It was made clear she had immense inner power without the PF.

I mean that was his character arc.

Spoiler:
He went off track trying too hard to make people like mutants.

So worked for me.

Huh.. He

Spoiler:
did pretty well against Eric. Kept him occupied for a while. In fact Beast had to come help him.

Wayyyy better than Wolverine ever did, with or without adamantium.

And yeah, as an "ending" to this franchise, I didn't really feel closure like I did with Logan, so kinda feel for people who were disappointed about Logan not being the very last X-Men property before rebooting,

I mean Logan still ended Logan and Xaviers story.

But as an ending for the First Class series I personally preferred this to Apocalypse.

That said, I did like the final shot of Apocalypse. But the final shot in this was probably more appropriate for the First Class series.

They didnt get how to do a team up film. It was the old school way of thinking before the MCU, that even in a team up movie it Has to be about 1 character only, and they chose the most popular one for that.

That said even Ice-Man had more to do in X2 and Last Stand, so yeah they just hated Cyclops. Which is why Dark Phoenix by default is a big plus for me, and im glad it was made.

It didn't have to end this way...It didn't have to end with so little emotion, so little meaning - with a sad little speech about evolving, for Phoenix's sake.

^ Again this seems to be the main criticism im hearing, that the Fox X-Men deserved some kind of epic/perfect ending.

I think they are all forgetting just how bad some of these films have been.

I liked the ending. I liked it very much.

Spoiler:
Non-chess players pussies will never understand it.

There are several alternate realities in the FOX universe.

Original, First Class, Deadpool, Wolverine movies...

All are their own canon.

Yeah, there wasn't really, but compared to any of the previous villains, they were just forgettable nobodies.

That's stupid then. When was Jean ever that powerful without the PF? Without it she's usually another run of the mill telepath, who had trouble with like the Toad in X1. lol

How he handled Jean was where he lost me. Hank was right to turn against him.

Wolverine's always meant to job to Magneto (adamantium or not), but can give him that I suppose.

Fair enough. Usually Apocalypse has felt most appropriate to me as the end game (no Marvel pun intended) villain or arc, I guess thanks in part to the cartoons and whatnot, but is what it is far as here since they kinda missed the mark on his potential in the Fox-Menverse.

1) Remember though X3 happened without the PF. Plus the PF chose her because it sensed her power.

2) In hindsight I guess Apocalypse could have been an end the the FC series and Logan an end to the entire series. But you have to remember DP was already filmed before the Fox/Disney deal was announced, so its not like it was planned that way. And by the sounds of it the movie was terrible prior to the reshoots, so they only helped, and probably added that last scene as a kind of closure to the whole thing.

But for me as more of a fan of the First Class films, I was happier with this as the final chapter than Apoc. And as a Cyclops fan Im defo glad Fox finally used him.

But hey, if the order is an issue for you, just watch Logan again, and always watch it last in a rewatch lol

Spoiler:
He was lucky Mags forgot about the forcefield trick he literally just learned in XMA.

^ Im guessing that takes prep. We never saw him use it instantly.

Also he never needed that to kick Logans butt 😛

And he never paid much attention to an ant like Cyclops.

Plus, I think he lost his upgrade.

Storm kept her upgrade. So he might have just been out of practice.
